Ten days in which the streets of Paris are full of events related to the world of design and the trade show. Established in 2010\, Paris Design Week in 2024 is in its fourteenth edition. Every September\, the city comes alive with many events that attract professionals and the general public to discover trends in design and lifestyle. \nDiscover Maison&Objet September 2024 \nJoséphine Balayn\, Galerie Ellia \nCreated in 2010 by Maison&Objet\, Paris Design Week aims to revitalize the city every September\, raising awareness among the general public and professionals about the latest trends in the world of design\, decoration and the art of living. Paris Design Week is also an opportunity for design lovers to experience Paris in a different light. The temporary installations created by designers\, in fact\, are open and free to all. \nA feature of Paris Design Week\, in September 2024\, is to highlight artisans and designers; the Paris Design Week Factory is a springboard for emerging talent. Schools\, designers and cultural centers\, catalysts of talent\, come together\, to reveal the many expressions of design. These exhibitions create creating a dialogue between classical architecture and contemporary design. \nAmong the various exhibitions will be Eau Fraîche at the Hôtel de Soubise\, an installation by designer Lucas Huillet and perfumer Alexandre Helwani. The walls of the courtyard host an exhibition of graphic design\, as well as a collaborative textile art installation designed by the Société Choletaise de Fabrication (SCF)\, which has its headquarters here. Artist Anaïs Beaulieu invites citizens to create a collective work of “urban embroidery” using waste materials made available by the SCF. The ceramic tiles\, produced by the Dutch brand Palet\, pick up the colors of the quarters’ dwellings: the red of Pierre-Élisabeth de Fontanieu’s bedroom and the turquoise blue of the physics cabinet. Atop its pedestal\, the XXL ceremonial bed sports an exuberant array of drapery and pillows. Cabinetmaker Pierre Renart\, meanwhile\, presents an original work here with the Maison Parisienne gallery. The winners of the 2024 edition are Sungai Design (Bali and Paris)\, Konqrit (Buenos Aires)\, and Apollo (Bois-Colombes\, France). \nSungai Watch and Sungai Design\, from Indonesia\, are sisters brands. The former is an environmental foundation that collects and sorts plastic from Bali’s rivers. The newer brand started on a new path in recent months\, turning plastic into furniture. From the ideas of French brothers Kelly\, Gary\, and Sam Bencheghib came the Ombak chair\, made of recycled plastic and hand-assembled. \nFrom Argentina\, on the other hand\, comes Konqrit\, the brainchild of a former fashion consultant. Cecilia García Galofre set out to explore the boundaries of bathroom furniture\, and to see how far one can go with decoration. The result is bathtubs as works of art\, decorated both inside and out\, by different artists. \nFinally\, Paul de Livron pioneered a manufacturing technique to produce wooden wheelchairs\, under the Apollo brand. Creative and practical\, the designer-engineer creates unique pieces out of okoumé wood (or with charred Notre Dame beam splinters). Habitare\, which has been running since 1970\, is the largest design trade show in the Nordic countries. The starting point of the collaboration\, which begins in 2024\, is to support the design industry and its players. Helsinki Design Week thus becomes a platform for professionals and companies in the industry to meet from a business perspective. \nDiscover Milan Salone del Mobile \nHelsinki Design Week 2023 \nThree main venues for one event\nIn September 2024\, Habitare will be one of the three main venues of Helsinki Design Week.
