DESCRIPTION:Helsinki Design Week and Habitare join forces in 2024\, to launch a long-term collaboration. The purpose is to promote dialogue between designers and companies to accelerate the growth and internationalization of the design industry. Helsinki Design Week will take place from September 6 to 15\, 2024\, and Habitare from September 11 to 15\, 2024. \nDiscover Gdynia Design Days\, design on Baltic Sea \nFounded in 2005 by Kari Korkman\, Helsinki Design Week is the largest design festival in the Nordic countries. Habitare\, which has been running since 1970\, is the largest design trade show in the Nordic countries. The starting point of the collaboration\, which begins in 2024\, is to support the design industry and its players. Helsinki Design Week thus becomes a platform for professionals and companies in the industry to meet from a business perspective. \nDiscover Milan Salone del Mobile \nHelsinki Design Week 2023 \nThree main venues for one event\nIn September 2024\, Habitare will be one of the three main venues of Helsinki Design Week. The other main venues will be the historic bank building at Paasivuorenkatu 3 in Hakaniemi\, and Marsio\, the meeting place of Aalto University in Otaniemi\, which will open in September. \nIn the joint Showrooms Habitare x Helsinki Design Week event\, the brands will present their products to industry professionals and the general public in their showrooms. The showrooms will host events as part of the Art Goes Showroom Habitare x Helsinki Design Week project. \nDiscover Bangkok Design Week \nHelsinki Design Week 2023\, Paasivuorenkatu 3 \nThe collaboration also takes the form of a co-produced program. DESCRIPTION:Habitare\, the Helsinki design destination fair\, is back September 11-15\, 2024\, in Helsinki. With over 50 years of history\, Habitare brings together the best of Finnish and international interior decoration\, furniture design and living\, each year. While the first edition opened on 17 April 1970 in the Exhibition Hall in the Töölö district\, today Habitare Helsinki takes place at the Messukeskus Exhibition Centre\, also in Helsinki\, but in September. The Choice area\, returning for the second time\, showcases solutions for a more sustainable future\, in an exhibition by Susanna Vento. Habitare Handmade offers an overview of Finnish handicraft products and a diverse range of materials. The area is realized in cooperation with designer and entrepreneur Susanne Hamari; XAMK Restaurointi is the official educational partner of the Handmade area. \nDiscover VIFA Asean \n \nThe Talents\nThe Talents area allows four designers or design teams to exhibit their work. Early in their careers\, the four designers already carry a highly recognizable identity\, even if they have yet to be well known to the general public.\nFinally\, Habitare Kids is the area that encourages children and young people to learn about design and engage in hands-on activities. \nDiscover the January Furniture Show in Birmingham \nHabitare Pro\nHabitare Helsinki’s advanced B2B platform is Habitare Pro. Lake Como Design Festival is conceived and promoted by the association Wonderlake Como. Wonderlake Como creates editorial projects and organizes cultural events to promote Como and the surrounding area in Italy and worldwide.  \nThe Lake Como Festival 2024\nFor 2024\, the Lake Como Design Festival enriches its program with a series of exhibitions and special events in Como\, on the lake shores. The main theme of the 2024 edition is lightness. In the Como city center\, the festival will take place between the Palazzo del Broletto and the church of San Pietro in Atrio. On the other hand\, Villa del Grumello and the other locations within the Chilometro della Conoscenza (Kilometer of Knowledge) will be the stars on the lakefront. Every year we strive to propose to our visitors a new way of looking at creativity\, placing the exhibitions in unique architectural contexts\, themselves an integral part of the exhibition itinerary.”  \nLightness in progress at Villa Del Grumello\nWithin the late Renaissance spaces of the Villa Del Grumello\, the Lake Come Design Festival 2024 will host the Lightness in Progress exhibition. It’s a selection of works\, projects\, objects and furnishings from different galleries\, design studios\, and archives on the theme of lightness. The scenic greenhouses and other spectacular sites of the Kilometer of Knowledge will instead host the projects of the Contemporary Design Selection. This is an exhibition dedicated to independent design\, curated by Giovanna Massoni for the second consecutive year. In addition\, in the villa’s ancient dockyard\, there will be the audio/video installation Paesaggi d’acqua (Water Landscapes) by Stefano Larotonda and Niccolò Nessi\, with narration by Giuseppe Innocente.  \nMilan Salone del Mobile \nThe Form of Lightness\nDowntown\, in the Palazzo del Broletto\, is the exhibition The Form of Lightness\, a look at the theme of lightness in more than 100 years of design of a fundamental element of furniture\, the chair.  \nThe 13th-century church of San Pietro in Atrio\, meanwhile\, will host Lightness on Paper\, an exhibition project created to celebrate 35 years of Lithos\, a Como-based publishing house specializing in prints and art books. The exhibition will feature new works created by some of the most well-known and appreciated Italian and international architects\, designers and creatives.  \nAmong the special projects\, a series of site-specific installations by artist Valerio Eliogabalo Torrisi will involve different city entities. Swiss gallery Grieder Contemporary\, on the other hand\, will exhibit 33 works by artist Jorinde Voigt in its Borgovico space. Cho (KR/UK/CAN).  \nOn display are a series of objects in dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and technology\, updating techniques and materials in the name of sustainability.  \nThree thematic clusters for contemporary design\nThis thinking turns into three thematic clusters. The first imagines a subtraction of weight\, materials\, processing and structures\, that determine the object’s lightness\, as well as a reduction in weight and impact on the planet. A second cluster is dedicated to agile\, transformable\, foldable\, transportable\, multifunctional and adaptable objects. The third thinks about spaces of light; light is lightness par excellence. In the Serra del Grumello\, inside the park\, there’s a temporary restaurant curated by Michelin-starred chef Samuel Carugati. It’s realized thanks to the partnership with FENIX®\, Pedrali\, Davide Groppi and Acqua Chiarella.
