SUMMARY:Gdynia Design Days 2026
DESCRIPTION:Gdynia Design Days return for the 19th edition\, from June 20 to 28\, 2026. The festival is a design platform – culminating in its summer festival – dedicated to finding tangible solutions to contemporary challenges. Rather than treating design as an elite luxury\, the organizers view it as a democratic\, universal tool for positive change that impacts everyone’s daily life. \n\nGdynia Design Days 2026\nJune 20-28\n18+ exhibitions\nOpening hours: \nAt PPNT h. 12:00 – 8:00 pm\nExhibitions at other locations around the city will be open according to the descriptions \n  \n\n \nGdynia Design Days 2026 \nThe core theme of this year’s Gdynia Design Days\, “Closer\,” marks a pivotal shift in perspective\, moving away from catastrophic narratives\, information overload\, and the paralyzed pursuit of perfection. Instead\, it champions a grounded approach that focuses on what is immediate\, tangible\, and within human agency. Rather than inventing endless new solutions\, the festival explores how to optimize\, care for\, and improve what already exists. \nThe theme is articulated through five interconnected pillars:\n\nEmpowering Stories & Agency: In a world paralyzed by fear and complex data\, design is utilized as a tool to simplify and organize reality. By replacing anxiety with attentiveness and isolation with collaboration\, the festival brings back the joy of experimentation\, processing\, and mutual learning.\nCommunity & The “Third Place”: Shifting focus from grand gestures to everyday bonds\, this pillar highlights the importance of the spaces between home and work. It fosters a new kind of local patriotism rooted in shared responsibility\, accessibility\, and turning urban infrastructure into spaces for genuine human connection.\nDesigning for Health & Bioregionalism: Environmental care becomes tangible when linked to personal well-being (air quality\, temperature\, and comfort). By adopting a bioregional perspective\, design works in harmony with local natural ecosystems—such as local landscapes\, water\, and greenery—rather than separating humans from nature.\nHuman–Technology Proximity: Instead of viewing Artificial Intelligence as a threat or a replacement\, the festival explores how technology can support human intuition. Paradoxically\, the rise of AI highlights the irreplaceable value of human imperfection\, empathy\, and relationship-building.\nOne Step Bette (Protopia over Utopia): Rejecting unattainable utopian ideals\, the festival introduces protopia—the concept of building a better future through gradual\, small\, and tested adjustments. Looking toward Gdynia’s upcoming centenary\, the theme emphasizes that the future is not a distant\, perfect destination\, but a daily process shaped by incremental\, resilient choices.\n\nGdynia Design Days 2025 – Photo Jan Rusek\, Gdynia Design Days \nThe program: the exhibitions\nZero Waste Lab – Design from Bacteria\nThis exhibition bridges the gap between advanced laboratory bio-science and everyday consumer design. It explores the potential of raw\, 100% biodegradable biopolymers (such as PHA and PHB) as an eco-responsible alternative to traditional plastics\, showcasing real\, durable\, and contemporary prototypes of furniture and home accessories. \nAntyaltana – reversed gazebo\nInstalled outside the festival venue\, this spatial and architectural intervention completely flips the traditional concept of a garden gazebo. The piece challenges visitors to rethink the boundary between public and private space\, questioning how we shield ourselves from\, and interact with\, urban weather elements. \nProject Furniture: Futuro Classic\nAn exhibition dedicated to industrial and interior furniture design that examines the evolution and future standards of design classics. It focuses heavily on manufacturing optimization\, demonstrating how everyday seating and objects can be redesigned to be resilient\, ergonomic\, and closer to real human needs. \nCASTCERAMICS – International Ceramic Exhibition\nAn international collective showcase focusing on the art and craftsmanship of ceramics. It sets up a dialogue between ancient manual techniques\, cultural memory\, and contemporary experimentation\, celebrating material imperfections and the spirit of cross-border artistic cooperation. \nCastceramics\, photo Maja Tybel\, Gdynia Design Days \nLiving Forms: Symbiosis\nAdopting a deeply bioregional and ecological perspective\, this exhibition highlights design projects born from a harmonious dialogue with nature. It explores how human structures (buildings\, objects\, and furniture) can live in perfect symbiosis with local ecosystems\, strengthening regional flora and fauna rather than isolating us from them. \nDoing Nothing\nA highly conceptual and provocative display analyzing the luxury of time\, mental health\, and modern information overload. Through minimalist objects and artistic installations\, the exhibition tackles urban anxiety\, burnout\, and the psychological necessity of rediscovering the therapeutic value of taking a pause. \nPlaything | A Statue Of Felicity\, A Monument to Pure Bliss\nSituated in the outdoor green areas of the venue\, this large-scale interactive installation serves as a physical monument to carefree\, unapologetic play. It intentionally disrupts the rigid\, serious monotony of urban architecture to foster spontaneous joy\, laughter\, and lighthearted interactions among strangers. \nMomento Sospeso. Towards Connection\nHosted within the unique atmosphere of the Barańska Design studio\, this sensory exhibition explores the profound concept of physical and emotional connection. Through the artistic manipulation of glass and light\, it creates a suspended\, meditative atmosphere that urges visitors to reflect on interpersonal proximity. \n100 Vases\nA vast display of one hundred unique pieces celebrating the archetypal form of the vase. Each artifact explores varying materials\, raw textures\, organic imperfections\, and artisanal insights\, serving as a visual metaphor for the creative wealth that emerges when diverse design styles and approaches unite. \nSpiders\nThis exhibition modernizes and reinterprets pająki – traditional Polish straw and paper geometric chandeliers historically hung from rural ceilings. Contemporary designers take these complex\, fragile structures and scale them into modern spatial installations\, showing how ancestral heritage can serve as an emotional anchor today. \nPajaki (Spiders)\, Pawel Blecki\, photo Pawel Blecki\, Gdynia Design Days \nDesire Paths\nDedicated to urban planning guided by actual human behavior\, this exhibition studies “desire paths” (the spontaneous shortcuts people tread across grass). It champions a move away from rigid\, top-down city planning\, arguing instead for an empathetic\, flexible urbanism based on citizens’ true habits. \nCloser to trashes\nA raw and direct exhibition addressing the systemic crisis of urban and industrial waste management. Instead of hiding rubbish from view\, the display physically confronts the visitor with discarded materials\, highlighting innovative recycling and upcycling technologies that transform waste into valuable structural resources. \nDyplomyFest\nThe official showcase collecting the finest graduation projects and theses from the young designers of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. It offers a fresh\, unedited look into the future of the discipline\, highlighting the anxieties\, dreams\, and drive for agency within the new generation.\n \nWhy visit\nAs one of Poland’s premier cities and a popular Baltic Sea tourist destination\, Gdynia’s seaside location brings a unique and fascinating perspective to its Design Week. The festival’s diverse exhibitions deeply delve into the vast potential of design\, complemented by a rich lineup of guest speakers addressing critical topics like well-being\, harmonious living with nature\, and how design can pave the way toward a better life. From cultivating hydroponic vegetables and researching algae to utilizing recycled materials\, Gdynia Design Days truly serves as a treasure trove of practical solutions for a more sustainable lifestyle. \nGdynia Design Days\, June 20-28\, 2026\nFor professionals and general public\nSize: 18+exhibitions\, 20\,000 visitors\nMain venue: PPNT – Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia\n(Pomorski Park Naukowo-Technologiczny)\nOpening hours:\nAt PPNT h. 12:00 – 8:00 pm\nExhibitions at other locations around the city will be open according to the descriptions\nVisit Gdyniadesigndays.eu for info

SUMMARY:3daysofdesign in Copenhagen 2026: Make This Moment Matter
DESCRIPTION:The world of design often finds itself caught between two worlds: the reverence of the past and the speculation of the future. For 3daysofdesign 2026\, the focus shifts to the most profound place of all: the present. \nThe newly announced theme\, “Make This Moment Matter\,” serves as a call to action for designers\, architects\, and creatives worldwide to find purpose in the “now.” \nQuick Facts for 3daysofdesign 2026\n3daysofdesign\, Copenhagen\, June 10-12\, 2026\nFor professionals and general public\nSize: 460+brands\, 600+ events\, 60\,000+ visitors\nVarious locations\, 8 Design Districts\nVisit 3daysofdesign.dk for info \nDiscover 3daysofdesign 2025 \nDiscover the events in our curated map for 3daysofdesign 2026\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Click to load the interactive map\n \n \n\n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n3daysofdesign 2026: the main theme\nThe theme for the 2026 edition of Copenhagen’s premier design festival is “Make This Moment Matter.” \nWhile Danish design is rooted in a legendary past and a visionary future\, this theme emphasizes that the only moment with the power to create change is the present. It encourages the global design community to move beyond speculation and take proactive\, meaningful action. \nKey pillars of the 2026 theme: \n\nDefining the “Why”: Design without purpose is static. Meaningful design requires a clear intention behind every creation.\nSustainability & Planet: Choosing materials that do not harm the environment.\nHuman Wellbeing: Crafting interiors and spaces that improve our daily lives.\nCommunity & Belonging: Building inclusive environments that foster connection.\n\nDiscover the history of 3daysofdesign \n3daysofdesign 2025 \nThe visual identity: Artwork by “On Display”\nEvery year\, 3daysofdesign unveils a new visual identity. For 2026\, the artwork was created by On Display\, a cross-disciplinary design studio and collective founded by Anders Gerning\, Marie Heissel\, and Tor S. Johannesen. \nSymbolism of the 2026 Artwork \nThe 2026 visual identity is a poetic collage featuring two primary elements: \n\nThe Black Lily in a Vase: A still life representing the beauty and stillness of the present.\nThe Origami Teller: Superimposed over the lily\, this playful\, universal object represents hidden answers and the anticipation of discovery.\n\nThe juxtaposition of these elements captures the “moment in between”—the transition from what was to what will be. \nWhy “Make This Moment Matter” matters for the design industry\nAs we look toward 2026\, the design industry faces a pivotal moment. The theme suggests that every choice—from material sourcing to spatial layout – has a ripple effect. By focusing on the present\, designers can create a legacy that starts today rather than waiting for an uncertain future. \nDiscover Dutch Design Week 2025 \n  \n \n3daysofdesign 2026: a Guide to the 8 Design Districts\, making this moment matter\nCopenhagen is once again preparing to transform into the global epicenter of creativity. As June 2026 approaches\, the city isn’t just hosting a festival; it’s providing a blueprint for how design can – and should – interact with our world. This year’s theme\, ‘Make This Moment Matter’\, serves as a call to action for intentionality\, clarity\, and care in everything we create and consume. \n3daysofdesign 2025 \nExploring the 8 Design Districts\n– Islands Brygge: The Waterfront Renaissance \nOnce a gritty landscape of warehouses and manufacturing\, Islands Brygge has evolved into a masterclass in urban transformation. Since the late 1990s\, former industrial zones have been reimagined as public spaces. \n\nWhat to expect: Contemporary architecture meeting historic industrial structures\, with the harbor front acting as a vibrant social hub.\n\nVIPP Garage\, at Islands Brygge District \n– District Christianshavn: The Artisan’s Anchor \nFounded by King Christian IV in the 17th century\, this district feels like a “city within a city.” Its Dutch-inspired canals were once the lifeblood of Danish trade. \n\nWhat to expect: A deep focus on craftsmanship and maritime history\, where workshops still echo the skills of centuries past.\n\nMaterial Matters\, exhibition in the Christianshavn District \n– District Holmen: Where Legacy Meets the Launchpad \nHolmen is a 300-year-old naval district that has traded warships for workstations. It is home to the Royal Danish Academy\, making it the literal starting point for the next generation of designers. \n\nWhat to expect: A contrast between old dockside buildings and cutting-edge galleries\, featuring many of the most iconic Danish design brands.\n\nFantoni at Emfima showroom\, in Holmen District \n– District Frederiksstaden: The Height of Sophistication \nIf you’re looking for the “monarchy” of design\, this is it. Planned as a coherent urban ensemble in the 18th century\, it remains one of the finest examples of Rococo architecture in Europe. \n\nWhat to expect: Stately mansions\, intricate ornamentation\, and a sense of power and continuity that remains largely intact.\n\nMutina exhibition\, at Frederiksstaden District \n– District Kongens Nytorv: The Ceremonial Center \nThe “King’s New Square” is the hinge where Copenhagen’s history\, culture\, and luxury meet. From its Baroque roots to its current status as a cultural crossroads\, it is impossible to miss. \n\nWhat to expect: High-energy exhibitions near landmarks like Charlottenborg Palace and the Royal Danish Theatre.\n\nThe sixth edition of the exhibiton Framing\, in the Kongens Nytorv District \n– District Rosengård: The Medieval Gateway \nRosengård represents the transition of Copenhagen from a fortified\, walled enclave into an open\, modern capital. \n\nWhat to expect: A walk through the city’s medieval foundations\, where street names still whisper the location of ancient bastions and moats.\n\nFritz Hansen event at 3daysofdesign 2026 (Rosengård District) \n– District Nordhavn: The Blueprint for the Future \nNordhavn is the most radical experiment in the festival. Built on former industrial piers\, it is being developed into a “five-minute city” – where everything a resident needs is within a five-minute walk. \n\nWhat to expect: Refurbished silos and warehouses that now serve as offices and homes\, showing how raw industry can become high-end\, sustainable living.\n\nAudo Copenhagen\, in the Nordhavn District \n– District Kultur: The Intellectual Heart \nThis district is where design meets democracy. It celebrates how cultural values and traditions imbue objects with meaning beyond simple aesthetics. \n\nWhat to expect: Royal gardens and museums that frame contemporary cultural exchange\, proving that heritage is a living\, breathing thing.\n\nDiscover Homo Faber exhibition at Milan Design Week 2026 \nHomo Faber exhibition (Kultur District) \nNavigating the Festival: The i-Points \nExploring 8 districts can be overwhelming\, which is why 3daysofdesign has expanded the i-Points concept for 2026. These six hubs serve as the nervous system of the festival. \n\nGuidance: Each i-Point is staffed by District Managers and Design Ambassadors ready to help you curate your route.\nConnection: Use these as physical meeting places to pause and plan.\nExploration: The i-Points are the official starting blocks for Design Walks and other curated tours.\n\nWhy visit \nVisit 3daysofdesign 2026 to experience design as a proactive act of purpose and presence. Under the theme “Make This Moment Matter“\, the event showcases innovative projects focused on sustainability\, human wellbeing\, and community. It is the ultimate destination to connect with global creatives\, explore meaningful installations\, and discover how intentional design can create an immediate\, positive impact on our world today. \nQuick Facts for 3daysofdesign 2026\n3daysofdesign\, Copenhagen\, June 10-12\, 2026\nFor professionals and general public\nSize: 460+brands\, 600+ events\, 60\,000+ visitors\nVarious locations\, 8 Design Districts\nVisit 3daysofdesign.dk for info

SUMMARY:Milan Design Week 2026: The Ultimate Guide
DESCRIPTION:Milan Design Week 2026 is the most influential design event in the world. Every April\, the city transforms into a global stage where the commercial power of the Salone del Mobile.Milano meets the creative energy of the Fuorisalone. \nWith over 1\,000 events\, navigating this week requires a strategic approach. This guide covers the essential districts\, high-traffic “catalyst” locations\, and professional advice for visitors and exhibitors alike. \nMilan Design Week Map 2025\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Click to load the interactive map\n \n \n\n \n\n	\n\n	\n	  \nMilan Design Week 2026: Key Info\nDates: April 19 – 26\, 2026 \nFuorisalone (City Events): April 19 – 26 \nSalone del Mobile (Fair): April 21 – 26 (at Rho Fiera Milano) \nOfficial Fair Website: salonemilano.it \nScale: 10+ Design Districts\, 1\,000+ Events\, 500\,000+ Visitors \nDiscover Milan Design Week history \nAlcova at Milan Design Week 2026\, Baggio Military Hospital \nUnderstanding the Framework: Salone vs. Fuorisalone\n\nSalone del Mobile.Milano: The official international furniture fair held at Rho-Fieramilano. It is a curated trade event focusing on furniture\, EuroCucina (Kitchens)\, FTK (Technology and appliances) Salone del Bagno (International Bathroom Exhibition)\, and SaloneSatellite (for designers under 35). Ticket mandatory\n\nLocated at Rho Fiera Milano\, this is the massive trade fair at the heart of the week. It is highly organized and sector-specific:\nEuroCucina: The biennial focus on high-end kitchens and appliances\nSalone del Bagno: Innovations in bathroom wellness and technology\nEuroluce: The world’s leading lighting exhibition\nSaloneSatellite: The launchpad for designers under 35. If you are looking for the “next big thing\,” this is the place\n\nFuorisalone: A decentralized collection of independent events across the city. Most are free and held in galleries\, warehouses\, or historic palazzos.  It is a spontaneous\, vibrant festival involving luxury fashion houses (like Hermès and Louis Vuitton) and tech giants (Samsung\, Huawei\, Google). Here\, design meets lifestyle\, art\, and technology\nThere is no single “official” Fuorisalone website\, as events are private; however\, platforms like Fuorisalone.it offer extensive crowd-sourced listings\n\n\nDiscover the guide to Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 \nInstallation by Google at Milan Design Week 2025 \nThe 2026 Design Districts: where to go\nMilan is organized into districts\, each with a distinct creative identity: \n\nBrera Design District: The luxury heart of Milan\, home to prestigious showrooms and galleries\nDDDesign – via Durini Design District\nCertosa Design District: A rising star in the North-West\, focusing on industrial regeneration and large-scale innovation hubs\, in 2026 it hosts SuperPlayground\, at Superstudio Village\n\nTortona District: Featuring Superdesign Show and Tortona Rocks\, it remains a hub for international brands and immersive installations\nIsola Design Festival: The place for emerging talent\, circular economy projects\, and collectible design. \n5VIE: A blend of history and avant-garde design in the city’s oldest neighborhood.\nSarpi Design District: An emerging circuit integrating Milan’s Chinatown into the design conversation\n \nDiscover Milan Design Week 2025 map & agenda \n\n\nDesign Week Milan: Brera Design District \nThe “Catalyst” Locations in 2025: High-Traffic Powerhouses\nAccording to the Salone del Mobile industry reports\, certain events\, in 2025\, acted as catalysts\, drawing massive crowds due to their prestige and scale. \nPro Tip: These locations served as excellent starting points for curated itineraries. For those looking to exhibit\, positioning your event near a catalyst location is a powerful strategy to capture high “spillover” traffic and visibility. \n\nINTERNI (Università Statale): The undisputed center of gravity for large-scale architectural installations in the historic courtyards of the Statale University\n\nDDDesign – via Durini Design District\nAlcova 2026: Famed for activating forgotten spaces\, Alcova expands this year into two iconic venues: Villa Pestarini and the Ospedale Militare di Baggio (Military Hospital).\nMoscaPartners “Variations” (Palazzo Litta): A refined showcase of contemporary design set against the baroque splendor of one of Milan’s most beautiful palaces\nMasterly | The Dutch in Milano (Palazzo Giureconsulti): Situated next to the Duomo\, this is the essential hub for Dutch craftsmanship and innovation \n\n \nExhibitor Strategy: How to Stand Out\nExhibiting in Milan is a major investment. You have two main paths: \n\nIndependent Events: Total creative control\, but requires significant budget for location rental\, PR\, and logistics. Renting a private gallery or warehouse\, offers maximum visibility but requires a dedicated PR agency and an exhibition architect.\nCollective Exhibitions: Ideal for smaller brands. Hubs like Superdesign Show\, Isola\, or Fabbrica del Vapore provide a curated environment and shared visibility.\n\nStrategy: Ensure you have a defined communication plan. Media and buyers typically stay only 3–4 days; being “in the right place” (near a district hub or catalyst event) is vital. Unless you are a world-famous brand\, one-day events often get lost in the noise. Aim for at least 4-5 days of presence to ensure press and buyer coverage.\n\nTravel & Survival Logistics for 2026\nTransport: Getting Around the Crowds \nMilan’s public transport is excellent but will be under pressure. \n\nMetro & Trams: Use contactless payment (Credit Card/Smartphone) directly at the turnstiles.\nAvoid Taxis: During peak hours\, wait times can exceed 40 minutes.\nApps to Download: ATM Milano (Metro/Bus)\, Moovit (best for city routes)\, and Trenit (for trains).\n\nWhere to Stay (and How to Save) \nMilan becomes extremely expensive in April \n\nStay Outside the Center: Look for hotels in cities like Monza\, Saronno\, or Legnano. They are connected to Milan by Trenord trains in 20-30 minutes and are significantly cheaper.\nBook 6 Months Early: If you wait until January\, prices will double.\n\nAgain in 2026\, a strategic choice could be MiTo Design Connections\, a unique initiative that bridges the gap between Turin and Milan. \n\nTurin as a Design Hub: Only 40 minutes by high-speed train Milan-Turin-Milan\, Turin becomes a vibrant extension of Milan Design Week. It offers a curated blend of art\, culture\, and gastronomy at a more accessible pace. The high-speed train stops at Rho-Fieramilano\, during Salone del Mobile.Milano\nSeamless Logistics: MiTo offers complete hospitality services\, including premium hotel packages and seamless rail connections directly to the heart of the design events.\nExhibitor Benefits: For brands and professionals\, MiTo provides a dynamic setting for networking and relaxation\, away from the frantic crowds of central Milan\, without sacrificing proximity to the Salone\n\nWhy visit\nVisit Milan Design Week 2026 to witness the global epicenter of innovation\, where the world-class Salone del Mobile and 1\,000+ city-wide events merge into a living museum. It’s a unique chance to network with industry leaders and explore the future of living across iconic districts and high-traffic “catalyst” locations \nMilan Design Week 2026: Key Info\nDates: April 19 – 26\, 2026\nCity Events: April 19 – 26\nSalone del Mobile (Fair): April 21 – 26 (at Rho Fiera Milano)\nScale: 10+ Design Districts\, 1\,000+ Events\, 500\,000+ Visitors\nVisit the websites of the Design Districts for more info

SUMMARY:DW! São Paulo Design Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:DW! São Paulo Design Week 2026 is not just an event on the calendar; it’s a milestone. Celebrating its 15th anniversary from March 5 to 22\, 2026\, the festival has established itself as the most important urban design festival in Latin America and one of the most influential events in the international scene. What began in 2012 as an ambitious challenge has grown into a widespread network connecting the entire metropolis\, redefining the way we experience design. \nDW! São Paulo Design Week\, São Paulo\, Brazil\nMarch 5-22\, 2026\nThe events are open to professional and general public\nSize: 415 events\, 132 locations\, 500\,000 visitors\nVisit DWSemanadedesign.com.br website for info and registration \nDiscover DW! São Paulo Design Week 2025 \nDW! São Paulo Design Week\, 2025\, foto from Casa Vogue \nA strategic evolution: March instead of September\nThe decision to hold DW! in March is no coincidence. Throughout its history\, the festival has explored different time frames\, but the organizing team and the market have identified March as the ideal time. This strategic choice allows the major launches of collections and new creative visions of the Brazilian market to be aligned with global dynamics\, making São Paulo the natural starting point for the trends that will guide the current year. It is a synergy designed to influence professionals\, media\, architects\, and creatives at a time when the market is most receptive. \nRead the interview to Lauro Andrade\, founder of the DW! São Paulo Design Week  \nDW! São Paulo Design Week 2025 \nThe City as a stage: the soul of the districts\nThe disruptive power of DW! lies in its being a “widespread festival.” There is no single fair that contains everything; it’s the city itself that becomes the container. This democratic approach\, summed up by the motto “Design em tudo. Para todos. Perto de você” (Design in everything. For everyone. Close to you)\, breaks down the physical barriers between the design product and the citizen.  \nThe festival is divided into Design Districts\, each with its own specific identity:\n\nAlameda Gabriel: The beating heart of high-end and luxury design\nCentro: A mix of history\, urban architecture\, and creative redevelopment\nPinheiros\, Vila Madalena\, and Oeste: the bohemian and creative neighborhoods\, epicenters of independent innovation\nD&D Shopping and Shopping Lar Center: Hubs that combine the retail experience with design culture\nFashion Hub DW!: An area dedicated to the intersection of fashion and design\nDigital Districts: To allow anyone\, from anywhere in the world\, to enjoy the event online\n\nIn the latest edition of the festival\, DW! SP 2025 reached around 132 locations with over 415 events \nDiscover Milan Design Week  \nDW! São Paulo Design Week 2025 \nDW! São Paulo Design Week: design as social impact and future\nIn addition to aesthetics and the market\, DW! 2026 places a strong emphasis on the social role of design. Conferences\, workshops\, and urban interventions encourage discussion on crucial issues: inclusive urban planning\, material sustainability\, the circular economy\, and the impact of technology on the quality of daily life. \nAt São Paulo Design Week\, design is not intended as a mere consumer item\, but as a process and solution to the challenges of the modern metropolis. \nDW! São Paulo Design Week\, photo from Revista House \nVisitor’s Guide: how to experience DW!\nGiven the immensity of the event – which exceeded 400 events in its last edition – approaching DW! requires a strategy. Here are some tips for navigating the festival to the fullest: \n– Create your own itinerary: There is no universal program. Each visitor builds their own personalized agenda. Use the official website to filter events by district\, type of activity (talks\, tours\, exhibitions)\, and personal interest. \n– Monitor the mini-sites: Each participating brand manages its own online space. This is where you’ll find details on registration\, limited workshop places\, and specific times. \n– The Hybrid Approach: Take advantage of the digital component. If you can’t be in all places at once\, the Acontece and Blog sections of the official website\, along with social media channels (Instagram and TikTok)\, offer a complete immersion even for those following remotely. \n– Accessibility: Most attractions are free and open to the public. However\, for workshops\, guided tours\, or exclusive events\, it is essential to check in advance whether accreditation is required (via platforms such as Lu.ma\, email\, or WhatsApp). \nWhy visit DW! São Paulo Design Week 2026\nParticipating in DW! means immersing yourself in an ecosystem of boundless creativity. In the previous edition (2025)\, the festival involved 132 locations with over 415 events\, recording over 32 million digital impacts and 50\,000 in-person visits. \nVisiting DW! means experiencing São Paulo as an open-air creative laboratory\, discovering the latest trends in Brazilian furniture and design. Whether you are a professional looking to network or an art and architecture enthusiast\, DW! offers you a unique opportunity to experience the energy of the Latin American design capital\, celebrating beauty and functionality in every corner of the metropolis \nDW! For nine days\, the city transforms into a living lab where more than 2\,500 designers\, design schools\, ministries\, and global brands explore how design shapes the future. Spread across 120 venues\, DDW stands among the world’s most influential design events. \nThis 25th anniversary edition will draw around 350\,000 visitors from the Netherlands and abroad. The city will hum with creative energy\, featuring major names such as HEMA and Vattenfall. Esteemed designers including Sabine Marcelis\, Stefan Diez\, Piet Hein Eek\, and Kiki & Joost will exhibit alongside emerging talent from 35 European design schools. Under the collective title Class of 25\, institutions such as Design Academy Eindhoven\, the Swedish School of Textiles\, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna will present the next generation of innovators. \nDiscover Dutch Design Week 2024 \nRain Cafè at Dutch Design Week 2025 \nProgramme Highlights\nBridging Minds | Van Abbemuseum\nThe Van Abbemuseum presents Bridging Minds\, an exhibition of 100 works by leading designers and artists curated by DDW co-founder Miriam van der Lubbe. The show features Klarenbeek & Dros\, Maarten Baas\, Jalila Essaïdi\, Formafantasma\, Hella Jongerius\, and Marcos Kueh. Each work explores how design connects people\, disciplines\, and ideas\, turning reflection into tangible impact. \nGrand Projects | Across the City\nLarge-scale installations return with Grand Projects\, DDW’s outdoor exhibition of monumental works across Eindhoven. Some reach ten metres high\, transforming public spaces into immersive environments. Designers including Pauline van Dongen and Thijs Biersteker contribute striking installations that merge art\, architecture\, and sustainability. \nSignature and Collectible Objects: Forward Furniture | De Caai\nA former factory hall in De Caai district becomes a stage for collectible design. Curated by Liv Vaisberg\, Forward Furniture explores the evolution of furniture through an aesthetic lens. The exhibition celebrates craftsmanship\, innovation\, and the dialogue between functionality and art. \nStep into 2050\, in 2025\nDutch Design Week is not a showcase of finished products but a gathering place for ideas in progress. It welcomes experimentation\, doubt\, and collaboration. Expect daring projects exploring climate solutions\, AI experiments\, and sustainable materials. \nAt DDW25\, the future isn’t something to anticipate—it’s something to create together. \nCreating Greater Impact Together\nDesign thrives through collaboration. DDW25 works with brands such as Brabantia\, Hydro\, Sweco\, Rabobank\, Accenture\, HEMA\, Vattenfall\, and mobility partner Xpeng to push innovation with purpose. \nGovernment ministries\, including Education\, Culture and Science; Home Affairs; Health\, Justice and Security; and Defence\, will highlight how design can tackle social challenges. Key partners such as Nieuwe Instituut\, Waag Futurelab\, Stimuleringsfonds\, ClickNL\, and Trudo contribute to building an ambitious and inspiring programme. \nDesign enhances daily life while addressing global issues—from climate change and social inequality to emerging technologies. The curatorial approach behind Bridging Minds focuses on action and contribution rather than reflection. Each selected piece demonstrates how design drives transformation and shapes the future. \nEindhoven itself plays a central role as the Netherlands’ design capital—a place where technology\, design\, and knowledge converge. \nTen Rooms\, Ten Themes\nBridging Minds spans ten rooms in the Old Building of the Van Abbemuseum\, each devoted to a theme illustrating what design means for individuals and society. \nOne space explores safety and protection\, featuring work by Jalila Essaïdi and Bas Timmer. Another examines the relationship between humans and technology\, with pieces by László Moholy-Nagy and Ricky van Broekhoven transforming tech into sensory experience. \nElsewhere\, designs by Alissa+Nienke and Dan Graham address care and well-being through smart tools\, unconventional materials\, and soothing forms. The remaining rooms investigate connection\, inclusion\, empowerment\, innovation\, nature\, raw materials\, and freedom—together offering a panoramic view of contemporary design. \n \nEleven Outdoor Installations Across Eindhoven\nDuring Dutch Design Week 2025 (18–26 October)\, Eindhoven becomes an open-air gallery once again. Across its central squares and public spaces\, eleven large-scale installations by international designers take shape. Each explores how design fuels social imagination and inspires radical futures—from generating new forms of energy to rethinking emergency housing. \nThe installations emerged from an open call that allowed the design community to define its own priorities. The result is a citywide exhibition that connects professionals and the public\, creating space for experimentation and discovery. \nFreely accessible throughout Eindhoven\, the works invite everyone to engage directly with design. Highlights include: \nEconario by Thijs Biersteker\nHow political choices ripple through nature\nA data-driven installation that makes political decision-making visible\, Econario shows how today’s policies affect tomorrow’s ecosystems\, translating abstract issues into tangible experiences. \nDutch Design Week\, Econario 2022. The Umbra Pavilion envisions a future where energy generation integrates seamlessly into everyday environments. \nFactory 5.0 by Aditya Mandlik\nWorms that dismantle buildings\nTen thousand mealworms consume polystyrene in Factory 5.0\, redefining architecture as something designed to decompose. The project challenges ideas about permanence\, circularity\, and ecological repair. \nCity At Sea Level by Bahar Orçun\nA submerged future\nA sunken cityscape reveals the consequences of rising sea levels. City At Sea Level immerses visitors in a stark vision of the world shaped by climate inaction. \nThe Waiting Room by Nanne Brouwer\nDignity in emergency accommodation: privacy is rare in asylum shelters\, where residents often share bedrooms. The Waiting Room proposes a humane alternative for temporary housing built on personal space and dignity\, questioning how society treats vulnerable groups. \n \nWhy Visit?\nDutch Design Week is more than an exhibition—it’s a citywide experience of creativity\, innovation\, and imagination. Visitors encounter installations\, talks\, and live experiments that reveal how design influences every aspect of life. \nWhether you’re a professional\, a student\, or simply curious\, DDW25 offers a chance to explore ideas before they reach the mainstream and to see design as an active force for social progress. \nDutch Design Week\, October 18-26\, 2025\nFor professionals and general public\, upon registration – (some events request entry fee)\nSize: 2500+ designers\, 100 venues\, 350\,000 visitors\nVisit website ddw.nl for more info

SUMMARY:Design Days
DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Design Days are\, above all\, a festival that celebrates the creative and productive dimensions of design through a pluralistic and transdisciplinary approach. The goal is to give professionals and enthusiasts a platform where industry players can showcase their work. Designers\, publishers\, manufacturers\, artisans\, galleries\, schools\, and foundations come together to share their values with the public in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere. The event offers a rich and diverse program featuring exhibitions\, events\, workshops\, conferences\, and installations. \nDiscover 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen \nStudents from ECAL deisgned the new Homeworks collection for Micasa \nThe Swiss creativity and expertise\nFor several years now\, the event spotlighted Swiss creativity and expertise\, thanks to the strong presence of local designers and manufacturers. As a unique platform\, Design Days have become the leading ambassadors of Swiss design across the French-speaking regions. \nFor 16 years\, the design festival championed a plural and transdisciplinary vision of design. Every year\, the festival brings together emerging talents and seasoned professionals through installations\, exhibitions\, debates\, and conferences held in unusual and unconventional locations – abandoned factories\, old cinemas\, hotels\, and in 2024\, a disused section of a train station. \n2024 Edition\nAfter several itinerant editions\, the event set up base at a new\, central\, and unique venue. The 15th edition unfolded at La Rasude\, an exceptional site located within Lausanne’s train station\, and hosted 63 designers – both emerging and established. The event showcased furniture\, lighting\, robotics\, and new technologies\, along with innovative projects\, prototypes\, and limited or serial editions\, including designs aimed at seniors. The Swiss Fashion Point curated a selection of 21 young talents in fashion\, jewelry\, and accessories. \nThe Design Dinners – immersive gastronomic experiences held on the rails – sold out completely. These dinners enchanted both eyes and palates by blending design and fine cuisine in a memorable\, sensory fusion. \nDiscover Clerkenwell Design Week  \nTeo Jakob studio reception\, among 2025 events \n2023 Edition\nFrom 16 to 25 November\, the 14th edition took participants on an urban journey through Geneva\, linking various neighborhoods and cultural axes. The event brought together around 30 venues and about 50 designers. By weaving together design culture and showcasing the emerging Swiss scene\, Design Days affirmed their status as a key event for promoting the creative force of design to both professionals and the general public. \nWith a spirit of openness and sharing\, the Swiss event aimed to build a strong design community\, raise awareness of design as a creative discipline\, and highlight its economic impact. The program included festive events\, meetings\, conferences\, roundtables\, and seminars\, enriching the experience for all participants. \nSwiss Plus takes part at 2025 edition \n2020 Edition\nDespite the cancellation of several major events\, the 12th edition of the festival adapted to health restrictions and went ahead in a new format. From 5 to 15 November 2020\, boutiques\, showrooms\, and workshops in Lausanne and the surrounding region hosted selected installations by designers. This kaleidoscope of micro-exhibitions supported local businesses\, designers\, artists\, and craftsmen. \nIn small\, safe group settings\, visitors explored contemporary Swiss creations across 24 venues in Lausanne and nearby areas. The only downside: the Signature room at Lausanne Palace and the USM Design Grant X ECAL installation at Flon remained closed to the public. \n2019 Edition\nThe year 2019 featured two editions of Design Days. The spring edition\, held as part of the Habitat-Jardin fair in Lausanne\, focused on interior decor with inspiration spaces and personalized design advice. From 26 to 29 September\, Design Days returned to the Pavillon Sicli in Geneva to highlight both emerging and established design labels. The program included conferences\, exhibitions\, and installations. \nThis 11th edition featured over 50 exhibitors\, 40 young creators\, student projects\, new publishers\, and the best of Swiss design. In partnership with HEAD – Geneva and Swiss Fashion Point\, the event spotlighted the energy and diversity of the national design scene. \nGirsberger takes part at 2025 edition \n2018 Edition\nIn 2018\, the design festival celebrated their 10th anniversary with a special edition. The main platform for design-related meetings and exchanges in French-speaking Switzerland set up at Expo Beaulieu Lausanne\, joining forces with the Habitat-Jardin fair. These two home-focused events combined to offer visitors a richer\, more varied\, qualitative\, and accessible experience. \nThe spotlight shone on Swiss creativity\, with young multi-talented designers\, student projects supported by the USM Foundation through the USM Design Grant\, and highly popular personalized decor consultations. The “Flair” trend debriefs\, high-tech exhibitions\, and innovative product showcases – thanks to the presence of the Swiss Design Prize – added further depth to the program. \nSwiss Design Awards 2018 \n2017 Edition\nThe 9th edition welcomed both professionals and the general public into the warm and inviting space of the Pavillon Sicli in Geneva. This edition served as a vibrant showcase for contemporary and forward-looking design. \nVisitors – over 8\,000 – were captivated by the diversity of creative worlds\, fresh innovations\, and the 100% Swiss design labels presented. The USM Foundation awarded its first-ever CHF 25\,000 USM Design Grant to a HEAD – Geneva student. Under the guidance of Albert Schrurs\, students in an interior architecture workshop imagined the future of workplaces\, homes\, and living environments. \nThe event also renewed its partnership with Swiss Fashion Point and welcomed over 30 fashion exhibitors\, covering clothing\, accessories\, and jewelry. \n2016 Edition\nThe 8th edition in Renens at the former Mayer & Soutter workshops and marked a new milestone. By welcoming German-speaking Swiss companies for the first time\, the French-speaking event took a step toward national recognition\, solidifying its status as a respected platform throughout Switzerland. \nDespite a challenging market\, the edition delivered a rich and diverse offering. Around 70 labels\, showrooms\, publishers\, young designers\, and stylists presented a wide and representative cross-section of the design market. SUMMARY:Munich Creative Business Week 2025: how to design a vibrant community
DESCRIPTION:Organized by bayern design\, Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) is Germany’s largest design event and a key international platform for Bavaria’s creative and design industries. From May 10 to 18\, 2025\, Munich Creative Business Week returns with the 14th edition\, evolving around the “design community” concept. MCBW once again transforms Munich into a city-wide stage for design innovation and interdisciplinary exchange.  \nDiscover Clerkenwell Design Week  \n \nMunich Creative Business Week 2025: how to design a vibrant community\nThe MCBW 2025 edition evolves around this motto: How to design a vibrant community? How can design help us build stronger\, more connected communities? In a world marked by increasing polarization\, the desire for togetherness has never been greater. This year’s motto invites participants to explore how design can serve as a powerful tool for fostering connection\, empathy\, and collective problem-solving. \nMCBW 2025’s theme is structured around three key focus areas: \nOpening minds: design awakens curiosity\nHow do we shift mindsets and inspire sustainable behavior in a world full of complexity and contradiction? Design drives learning and transformation — from office spaces that foster creativity to apps that reshape daily habits. Through design\, we spark curiosity and catalyze change. \nShaping togetherness: design Enables cooperation\nAs people grow more detached from traditional systems — in mobility\, housing\, and communication — the role of design becomes more vital. Design helps bridge divides\, invite participation\, and foster a sense of shared ownership. It speaks across languages and disciplines\, enabling collaboration and cultural expression. \nInspiring empathy: design elevates the human factor\nTechnology offers great promise\, but also challenges our humanity. Through thoughtful application of design and design thinking\, we can humanize emerging technologies like AI\, making them understandable\, accessible\, and ethical. Design keeps empathy at the core of progress. \nMCBW 2025 also features a rich mix of formats\, talks\, and showcases\, all centered on the power of design to build community. With fresh perspectives from new and returning partners\, the event offers inspiring responses to the question of how we can shape a design community. \nDiscover Design Month Graz 2025 \n \nMCBW Design Summit\nOn May 12\, 2025\, MCBW hosts its flagship event\, the Design Summit\, at Munich Urban Colab. The summit runs all day. Internationally renowned speakers pair up to explore key themes as MCBW Creative Explorers. Together\, they will examine how design can fuel a dynamic\, democratic\, and vibrant society. \n \nShaping togetherness: design sparks cooperation\nEzio Manzini\nEzio Manzini leads DESIS\, a global network of design labs. As president\, he champions sustainable and social innovation. His work shows how design enables people to collaborate and build solutions together. \nCarsten Waldeck\nCarsten Waldeck – designer\, inventor\, and founder of SHIFT – will receive the 2025 German Sustainability Award in two categories: Companies (for consumer electronics) and Products (for the SHIFTphone8). He also supports local initiatives in Hesse\, showing how design and entrepreneurship can strengthen communities. \nInspiring empathy: design highlights the human side\nKim Dabbs\nKim Dabbs\, author of You Belong Here\, speaks globally about empathy and belonging. Born in Korea and raised in the U.S.\, she uses her life story to promote understanding and social inclusion. Her work shows how design can build a sense of security and value in communities. \nAlona Kharchenko\nAlona Kharchenko co-founded Devanthro\, a Munich-based deep-tech start-up. In 2024\, Devanthro became the first company to use humanoid robots in private homes. Early trials showed strong bonds forming between remote caregivers\, clients\, and the robots—thanks largely to thoughtful design. \nOpening minds: design sparks curiosity\nAna Relvão\nAna Relvão tailors her design work to society’s needs. She believes design should fuel curiosity and community life. Her J*GAST kitchen showroom in Munich shows this in action. Developed through collaboration – not authorship – it reflects many voices and viewpoints. \nTim Brown\nTim Brown\, former CEO of IDEO\, pioneered design thinking. He promoted it as a way to tackle tough challenges and inspire human-centered innovation. His approach shows how curiosity-driven design can shape resilient\, creative communities. \nFor info an ticket for Design Summit\, visit the website https://www.mcbw.de/en/design-summit-2025 \n \nWhy visit\nMCBW is the largest Germany’s design event. Moreover\, it’s a catalyst for innovation across design\, architecture\, business\, and education. Each year\, it brings together companies\, creatives\, and students for nine days of exchange\, insight\, and inspiration. \nbayern design GmbH\, the organizing body\, serves as Bavaria’s hub for design knowledge and collaboration. Through various initiatives\, it promotes the transformative potential of design in driving sustainable economic and social change\, supporting designers\, institutions\, and stakeholders across sectors. \nIn 2024\, MCBW attracted over 65\,000 visitors under the motto “How to Co-Create with Nature.” The success of that edition underscores the event’s growing influence as a space where ideas\, innovation\, and impact converge. \nMunich Creative Business Week\, May 10-18\, 2025\nFor professionals and general public\nSize: 200 events\, 65\,000 visitors\nVarious locations \nVisit MCBW.de for info and ticket(s)\n \n

SUMMARY:Gorizia Design Week 2025
DESCRIPTION:Gorizia\, European Capital of Culture 2025\, hosts Gorizia Design Week (7-16 March 2025)\, as one of the first events to kick off the cultural program. Its goal is to raise awareness and appreciation of two cities united by a border – Nova Gorica and Gorizia. \nThe chosen theme\, FIBER ART & TEXTILE DESIGN\, highlights the symbolic power of fabric and weaving. Threads represent connection\, unity between people\, and the stitching together of urban areas. This theme reflects the deep bond between the two border cities. \nThe exhibition spreads across both cities. Venues include Go! Center\, Auditorium della Cultura Friulana\, Galleria Agorè\, The Good Store\, and Carinarnica. It presents design objects selected through an open call for designers under 40. Alongside them\, works from young contemporary artists from the IoDeposito ETS creative hub will also be on display. \nDiscover Auckland Design Week 2025 \nOloop Connections \nDesign weaves the scenary \nThe selected works offer a snapshot of today’s design scene. They reflect global trends within the local context. Key trends include: \n•Participatory design\, where creating objects becomes a tool for social connection and personal growth. The carpet-in-progress Connections by Slovenian group Oloop Design offers a perfect example. \n•Conscious design\, which focuses on responsible use of resources\, from material sourcing to product disposal\, while promoting care and longevity. \n•Design and craftsmanship\, which values manual skills and personal engagement. \nThe exhibition also showcases iconic design objects inspired by textiles. Highlights include the Falkland lamp by Bruno Munari\, the Tuta coat hanger by Nendo\, and the Crinoline armchair by Patricia Urquiola. \nDiscover Clerkenwell Design Week  \nCuscino Pizzolongo \nGorizia Design Week: textile art to explore contemporary issues\nThe artists contribute works using fibre art to explore contemporary issues. Themes range from African renaissances to local textile heritage\, and from critiques of consumerism to reflections on care and repair. ‘Red threads’ weave through the exhibition\, symbolizing connections across time and space\, linking visitors to universal stories. \nThe event aims to highlight innovative uses and trends in fibre art. It promotes a culture that crosses national borders — and blurs the lines between art and design. \nKnotted coat rack by Urska Sadar \nA special collaboration with ISIS Galilei Fermi Pacassi of Gorizia created the exhibition graphics. ISIS Fermo Solari of Tolmezzo designed and produced the exhibition supports for the design section. The University of the Third Age (UTE) Paolo Naliato of Udine\, together with Noi dell’Arte\, involved senior citizens in an intergenerational creative project\, exhibited at the Auditorium of Friulian Culture. \nGorizia Design Week is organised by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Museum of Design.
