SUMMARY:Alcova at Design Miami 2025
DESCRIPTION:Alcova\, Milan’s foremost independent design platform\, announces the third edition of Alcova Miami\, taking place December 2 – 7\, 2025\, during Design Miami. Following the success of last year’s edition\, the international platform will once again inhabit the Miami River Inn\, the city’s oldest hotel\, nestled in the South River Drive Historic District in East Little Havana. \nFounded in Milan in 2018 by Valentina Ciuffi (Studio Vedèt) and Joseph Grima (Space Caviar)\, Alcova is a platform for designers\, companies\, institutions\, and researchers. Through its exhibitions set in architecturally significant sites\, over the past seven years Alcova has presented the work of more than 500 designers\, brands\, galleries\, and cultural institutions across six continents\, solidifying its reputation as a singular platform for experimentation\, research\, and emerging talent in contemporary design. \nThe visual identity of Alcova Miami 2025 project is conceived and designed by Studio Vedèt\, while Space Caviar oversees spatial planning and curation. \nDiscover Alcova at Milan Design Week 2025  \nAlcova at Design Miami 2024\, photo Piergiorgio Sorgetti\, courtesy Alcova \nAlcova at Miami River Inn \nThe 2024 edition of Alcova Miami took place at the Miami River Inn\, a peaceful retreat amid the vibrancy of Miami Art Week. This historic site\, a collection of pastel-toned Victorian mansions originally built in 1908 as a boarding house\, will host again in 2025 a diverse range of projects and site-specific installations matching its architectural character. \nTrue to Alcova’s ethos\, the Miami River Inn will unfold as a layered spatial story\, presenting works by innovative and visionary designers. Across a fluid and multifaceted path\, each installation will create moments of discovery\, connecting the venue’s wooden structures and encouraging visitors to navigate intuitively and with curiosity. \nThe complete lineup of participants and events will be revealed soon\, continuing Alcova’s mission to foreground experimental and forward-looking design.  \nAlcova at Design Miami 2024 \nThe Garden Game by Patricia Urquiola \nThe main partner of the third edition of Alcova Miami is the American furniture manufacturer Haworth. Haworth will introduce The Garden Game\, a new collaboration with Patricia Urquiola\, featuring a site-specific installation in the venue’s central courtyard. The installation transforms the oval courtyard’s grassy surface into a dynamic playground\, where a grid painted in Alcova’s signature pink becomes an open-ended invitation to move\, connect\, and interact. \nDiscover Alcova at Milan Design Week 2024  \nAlcova Design Miami 2025\, photo Piercarlo Quecchia\, courtesy Alcova \nRietveld’s Utrecht Outdoor armchair for Cassina and Cappellini’s Thinking Man Lido chair establish the scene. Each object occupies its own square within the grid – still and almost sculptural in presence – yet their arrangement can shift for an evening cocktail or one of Alcova’s garden conversations. Around them\, Haworth’s Cardigan Lounge chairs take position along the edges\, acting as lively onlookers that emphasize the rhythm and collective spirit animating the courtyard. \nUsing only a painted grid\, the installation borrows the visual language of American sports fields and graphic systems\, turning the courtyard into a joyful landscape. \nWhy visit \n\nExperience cutting-edge design in a historic setting\, like the Miami River Inn Motel\nDiscover global talent and experimental workAlcova is renowned for showcasing emerging voices and boundary-pushing projects from across the world\nEngage with site-specific installations\nSee award-winner designer Patricia Urquiola’s “The Garden Game” for Haworth\nSee one of the most exciting venue and exhibition at Design Miami 2025\n\nAlcova Miami\, December\, 2-7\, 2025 \nFor professional and general public\nLocation: Miami River Inn Motel\nSize: around 50 exhibitors\, 20\,000 visitors\nPaid admission\nVisit website Alcova.xyz for more info \n  \n
