DESCRIPTION:Lisbon Design Week is an annual cultural event that highlights design and craftsmanship\, in 2025 in its third edition. Founded by Michèle Fajtmann of the agency From My City\, it brings together Portuguese and international creatives based in Portugal. The event focuses on connecting designers\, makers\, and audiences. It fosters collaborations through a broad program of exhibitions\, talks\, open studios\, workshops\, and launches. \nThe event also supports Lisbon’s role as a growing creative capital. Its mission includes promoting new talent\, building community networks\, and stimulating the local economy. Regular initiatives like the After Hours events at LACS and the Young Design Generation program reflect this mission. \nDiscover Milan Design Week 2025 \nCAM – Gulbenkian Shop \nLisbon Design Week 2025\nFrom 28 May to 1 June\, Lisbon will host the third edition of Lisbon Design Week. The event celebrates contemporary design\, craftsmanship\, and artistic innovation. It offers five days of exhibitions\, experiences\, and activities across the city. \nThis year\, Lisbon Design Week welcomes over 95 participants. These include design studios\, galleries\, brands\, showrooms\, shops\, and architecture offices. Over 250 creatives – referred to as “makers” – showcase their work during the event. \nFor the first time\, the event expands into two new neighborhoods: Ajuda/Belém/Restelo and Beato/Marvila. This move highlights Lisbon Design Week’s commitment to broadening its cultural reach and deepening its engagement with local communities. \nLisbon Design Week continues its collaboration with major cultural institutions. Notably\, it partners again with MUDE – Museu do Design e da Moda. Together\, they present the Young Design Generation Open Call Exhibition\, spotlighting emerging design talent. \nMarco Sousa santos\, showroom Branca Lisboa \nA new digital platform\nA major development for 2025 is the launch of a new digital platform. Designed by ABM Studio\, the website functions as a Progressive Web Application (PWA). It enables visitors to customize their experience based on interests\, locations\, and schedules. The platform\, launched in early May\, supports both Portuguese and English. It offers tools to explore events\, discover venues\, and connect with featured designers. \nThe new website extends beyond Lisbon Design Week. It will continue to serve as a curated space for design content year-round. ABM Studio\, known for its cultural and artistic digital platforms\, also worked on Les Rencontres d’Arles and Louis Vuitton City Guides. \nEach year\, Lisbon Design Week commissions a young graphic designer to create its official poster. Bernardo Berga is the designer of the 2025 poster: his work combines bold graphic language with urban and digital influences.  \nThe 2025 program\nDuring the five-day event\, attendees can visit 95 venues across the city. Locations include creative studios\, ateliers\, shops\, hotels\, architecture offices\, and private venues. Participants were encouraged to present Portuguese design using local materials. Many collaborated with designers\, craftspeople\, brands\, and artists to build unique showcases. \nLisbon Design Week participants will host a variety of events. These include product launches\, workshops\, exhibitions\, talks\, screenings\, showroom openings\, and immersive experiences. MUDE presents works from its Young Design Generation Open Call and hosts a day of talks on interdisciplinary design and local craftsmanship. \nHotel Locke de Santa Joana introduces Locke Rising\, showcasing names like AB+AC Architects and Mariana Ralo. Branca Lisboa honors Marco Sousa Santos with The Chairman\, while Luso Collective presents Perspective & Matter in Marvila. \nRoca Lisboa Gallery’s The Echo of Raw Materials\, curated by Wesley Sacardi\, emphasizes sustainable design. Other highlights include limited-edition chairs by Pedro Cabrita Reis\, Banema’s trio of design events\, and Perspectives of Belonging at Novobanco Gallery. \nFrench designer Emmanuel Babled debuts Kukua at Prime Matter and signs his monograph at MUDE. Coletivo 284 transforms into an “imaginary beach\,” and Verride Palace Gallery launches the Tilburg homeware brand. \nNoé Duchaufour-Lawrance unveils Xisto at Made in Situ\, and a tour through Ajuda/Belém/Restelo invites visitors into local studios. Finally\, Companhia Portugueza do Chá joins with a limited tea edition by Sebastian Figueiras\, illustrated by Mantraste. \nWhy visit\nLisbon Design Week offers a vibrant showcase of creativity\, placing over 200 designers at the forefront.
