SUMMARY:Casa Decor Madrid 2025
DESCRIPTION:In 2025\, Casa Decor\, the architecture and interior design exhibition held every spring in Madrid\, celebrates its 33rd anniversary and its 60th edition. The first edition was held in 1992\, in a historic and unique building—the first of many to come. Since then\, Casa Decor has gathered a collection of historic and distinctive buildings\, including palaces\, mansions\, banks\, embassies\, stately homes\, industrial buildings\, and even a convent. \nDiscover Madrid Design Festival \nThe project by Francesc Rifé at Casa Decor Madrid 2025 \nFor its 60th edition\, the event has chosen a true “Casa Decor building.” What does a “Casa Decor building” look like? It is a stately 19th-century palace with spacious interiors\, high ceilings\, lots of natural light\, and period details—in short\, a residential building from another era. In doing so\, Casa Decor stays true to its original mission: to discover\, restore\, showcase\, and open to the public the rich architectural heritage. \nCasa Decor Madrid 2025\, project Leroy Merlin by Estudio Querencia \nFor the 2025 edition\, Casa Decor returns to Chamberí\, a neighborhood with a strong historical connection to the event\, where seven editions have previously taken place. The building hosting the 2025 projects covers an area of 7\,141 square meters\, spread over the ground floor\, basement\, and four upper floors. It occupies an entire block on Calle Sagasta\, stretching from Plaza de Alonso Martínez to Calle Covarrubias. Although composed of two separate buildings\, they were designed as a single architectural and aesthetic unit. \nCasa Decor Madrid: a live magazine \nThe event lasts six weeks and features around fifty spaces\, decorated by both well-established professionals and young\, promising interior designers. Each edition brings together more than 200 exhibitors\, with 50 projects created by both professionals and companies\, all aiming to promote their work\, products\, or services through this comprehensive platform. It is a large collaborative initiative that supports and raises awareness for the interior design sector\, as well as consumer\, luxury\, and lifestyle brands. \nArquitalia – Borja Esteras for Aritco \nSince 1992\, more than 2\,000 professionals have participated in Casa Decor\, ranging from recognized names to emerging talents. Casa Decor has served as a showcase and a launching pad for the best interior designers of recent decades. The exhibition provides an ideal setting for creating lifestyle projects with complete creative freedom. Through a decorative project\, interior designers can present not only their creativity but also their working methods\, their signature style\, and how they bring their projects to life. Moreover\, the exhibition acts as a live decoration magazine\, offering visitors a sensory-rich experience as they walk through the spaces. It is a unique way to engage with the work of professionals in a deeply immersive and emotionally impactful manner. \nDiscover the booths at Milan Salone del Mobile 2024 \nStudio Senser for Exagres \nBusiness opportunities and media exposure\nCasa Decor also offers a significant business opportunity. Its visitors are potential clients with high purchasing power\, providing interior designers the chance to showcase the quality of their work in person. Thousands of decoration enthusiasts attend the event each year. \nEach edition of Casa Decor generates over a thousand news articles both online and offline and welcomes around a thousand journalists from more than 500 media outlets and communication channels. The exhibition has become one of the most important commercial\, social\, and cultural events in the Spanish capital. \nIn 2025\, Casa Decor presents a special Lifetime Achievement Award to interior designer Sandra Tarruella. With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years\, Sandra Tarruella is one of the leading figures in Catalan interior design\, with recognition throughout Spain and abroad. Her studio participated in Casa Decor Barcelona twice\, in 2003 and 2007. She now joins the prestigious list of past honorees\, which includes Pascua Ortega\, Javier Castilla\, Lorenzo Castillo\, Javier Muñoz\, Tomás Alía Muñoz\, Rafa Sitges\, Teresa Sapey\, and Francesc Rifé. \nFran Cisneros. SUMMARY:Designmonat Graz 2025: The New Real
DESCRIPTION:Under the theme The New Real\, Designmonat Graz 2025 will unfold from May 9 to June 1. As artificial intelligence advances\, technology reshapes our world\, and reality itself undergoes a transformation\, we find ourselves navigating a new kind of real—one that spares no industry. For professionals in design\, communication\, media\, and the creative industries\, these shifts bring profound implications. Throughout Design Month Graz 2025\, we will explore these changes under the program focus “The New Real\,” examining what human creativity means in an age of artificial intelligence\, how business models are evolving\, and the responsibilities of those shaping new immersive worlds. \nDiscover Gdynia Design Days \n \nGraz: UNESCO City of Design\nThe first edition of Designmonat Graz took place in 2009. Since 2011 the city of Graz has been part of the international UNESCO network. The UNESCO network consists of 350 cities\, of which 49 cities are in the field of design. In that sense\, the networking society Creative Industries Styria acts as a competence center for design and an international partner in terms of development and linking. \n \nGrand Opening on May 9\, Program Until June 1\nThe design community will find answers to these pressing questions through dynamic discussions\, exhibitions\, workshops\, and installations at the festival center\, located at the Hornig Areal behind Graz Main Station. The Grand Opening is set for Friday\, May 9\, launching a program that will extend across various locations in and around Graz until June 1. \nDesignmonat Graz 2025: Festival Centre at Hornig Areal\nIn 2024\, the festival introduced a major new element – a central festival hub located in the former Hornig Areal\, an industrial site near Graz’s main station. Once home to an iconic Austrian coffee producer\, this revitalized space became the heart of the festival and a gathering point for the design community. From this central location\, the program expanded outward\, engaging the broader city and region. \nOnce again\, in 2025 the heart of Designmonat Graz is the Festival Centre at Hornig Areal – a vibrant hub for discussions\, exhibitions\, workshops\, and installations. Visitors are encouraged to return time and again to immerse themselves in the creative atmosphere. Open daily throughout Design Month\, the Festival Centre is free to visit and conveniently accessible by public transport. \nDiscover São Paulo Design Week  \nDesignmonat Graz 2022 \nDesign in the City\n“Design in the City” brings together businesses and designers to showcase exceptional products\, unique collections\, and innovative creations. Experience firsthand how design shapes and enhances their work—right in the city’s shops and businesses\, where creativity thrives. This initiative makes design visible\, introducing fresh and exciting design products to a broad audience. \nDesign in the city \nGreen Utopia\nHydrogen from exhaust gases? Self-growing high-tech materials? Trains doubling as electric highways? Plant-based blood vessels? Climate-resilient suburbs? These futuristic ideas are backed by real research from the Green Tech Valley. \nJoin the Green Utopia presentation and panel discussion on May 27\, 2025\, where student teams from Styrian universities will showcase cutting-edge research through visionary short videos. Discover how disruptive innovations are shaping the future and find inspiration for your own groundbreaking ideas. Green Utopia highlights how pioneering research fuels transformative solutions – made in Green Tech Valley.  \nReview Design Month Graz 2024 \n\nDesignmonat Graz 2025: the vision\nLooking ahead\, the vision for Design Month remains focused on growth\, adaptability\, and continued relevance. There’s potential for the event to evolve into a Design Biennale\, building on its strong foundation. Whatever form it takes\, the festival must continue creating spaces for visibility\, discussion\, and innovation within design. By encouraging experimentation and remaining open to change\, the aim is to contribute to a better\, more thoughtful future—one shaped by optimism\, curiosity\, and critical engagement. \nWhy visit\n\nCondenses and showcases the energy of the local creative industries within one month\nMakes this creative energy visible to a broader audience\nContributes significantly to embedding the creative industries in public awareness\nPurpose & Impact:\nActs as a platform for innovative projects—both experimental and commercial.\nEmphasizes the true meaning of design:\nNot just decoration or styling\, but as an economically relevant\, value-adding\, and transformative process in business and society\nCollaboration & Structure:\nInvolves numerous local partners in its programming\nUses “Design Month” as an umbrella brand:\nUnifies various activities under a cohesive visual identity\nMaintains the independence of individual initiatives\n\nDesignmonat Graz\nFor professionals and general public \nSize: 140 events\, 50\,000 visitors\nVisit Designmonat.at website for more info

SUMMARY:Munich Creative Business Week 2025: how to design a vibrant community
DESCRIPTION:Organized by bayern design\, Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) is Germany’s largest design event and a key international platform for Bavaria’s creative and design industries. From May 10 to 18\, 2025\, Munich Creative Business Week returns with the 14th edition\, evolving around the “design community” concept. MCBW once again transforms Munich into a city-wide stage for design innovation and interdisciplinary exchange.  \nDiscover Clerkenwell Design Week  \n \nMunich Creative Business Week 2025: how to design a vibrant community\nThe MCBW 2025 edition evolves around this motto: How to design a vibrant community? How can design help us build stronger\, more connected communities? In a world marked by increasing polarization\, the desire for togetherness has never been greater. This year’s motto invites participants to explore how design can serve as a powerful tool for fostering connection\, empathy\, and collective problem-solving. \nMCBW 2025’s theme is structured around three key focus areas: \nOpening minds: design awakens curiosity\nHow do we shift mindsets and inspire sustainable behavior in a world full of complexity and contradiction? Design drives learning and transformation — from office spaces that foster creativity to apps that reshape daily habits. Through design\, we spark curiosity and catalyze change. \nShaping togetherness: design Enables cooperation\nAs people grow more detached from traditional systems — in mobility\, housing\, and communication — the role of design becomes more vital. Design helps bridge divides\, invite participation\, and foster a sense of shared ownership. It speaks across languages and disciplines\, enabling collaboration and cultural expression. \nInspiring empathy: design elevates the human factor\nTechnology offers great promise\, but also challenges our humanity. Through thoughtful application of design and design thinking\, we can humanize emerging technologies like AI\, making them understandable\, accessible\, and ethical. Design keeps empathy at the core of progress. \nMCBW 2025 also features a rich mix of formats\, talks\, and showcases\, all centered on the power of design to build community. With fresh perspectives from new and returning partners\, the event offers inspiring responses to the question of how we can shape a design community. \nDiscover Design Month Graz 2025 \n \nMCBW Design Summit\nOn May 12\, 2025\, MCBW hosts its flagship event\, the Design Summit\, at Munich Urban Colab. The summit runs all day. Internationally renowned speakers pair up to explore key themes as MCBW Creative Explorers. Together\, they will examine how design can fuel a dynamic\, democratic\, and vibrant society. \n \nShaping togetherness: design sparks cooperation\nEzio Manzini\nEzio Manzini leads DESIS\, a global network of design labs. As president\, he champions sustainable and social innovation. His work shows how design enables people to collaborate and build solutions together. \nCarsten Waldeck\nCarsten Waldeck – designer\, inventor\, and founder of SHIFT – will receive the 2025 German Sustainability Award in two categories: Companies (for consumer electronics) and Products (for the SHIFTphone8). He also supports local initiatives in Hesse\, showing how design and entrepreneurship can strengthen communities. \nInspiring empathy: design highlights the human side\nKim Dabbs\nKim Dabbs\, author of You Belong Here\, speaks globally about empathy and belonging. Born in Korea and raised in the U.S.\, she uses her life story to promote understanding and social inclusion. SUMMARY:Genova Design Week 2025: revitalizing the area
DESCRIPTION:The sixth edition of Genoa Design Week will take place from May 21 to 25\, 2025. Organized by DiDe – Genoa Design District\, the 2025 edition includes the contents that have made it a success in previous years: Container 02\, Outdoor without Borders\, Designer Under 35\, Design Talk Festival\, as well as the novelty Best Italian Houses. \nStarted in 2018 to revitalize an area of Genoa’s historic center\, the event has gradually expanded to the entire city. In recent years it has fostered the reopening of about 20 new businesses in the historic area involved. This demonstrates how well-structured design events can give a concrete contribution to urban regeneration. \nDiscover the Tigullio Design District \nPiazza dei Giustiniani\, Genova Design Week 2024 \nGenova Design Week 2025: revitalizing the area\nGenova Design Week was conceived from the beginning to enhance a valuable but little-visited part of the historic center. The idea of creating an event around design came about spontaneously. The organizers are active in creative fields\, such as art galleries\, architecture and design studios\, and the chosen area was historically home to furniture factories and artisan workshops. The inaugural edition\, dubbed “Edition 0\,” took place in 2018 and quickly yielded positive results. \nGenova Design Week 2024 \nThe 2024 edition counted 166 exhibitors\, 122 events including lectures\, exhibitions\, meetings and musical performances\, spread across 110 locations including historic buildings\, businesses and squares. It hosted about 20\,000 20\,000 visitors\, although without an exact count\, as access is free to maintain a welcoming and informal atmosphere. The success of the event has had tangible repercussions. The district area\, located on the “Left Bank” of Via San Lorenzo\, next to the Cathedral\, has seen more than 20 new businesses spring up since Genoa Design Week began. Today the area is once again a lively neighborhood\, with a strong presence of activities related to art\, design and architecture. A distinctive feature of the event is the participation of residents. Private buildings open to the public\, turning into temporary exhibition spaces and contributing to the fusion of historic architecture and contemporary design. \nFocus on young designers\nYoung talents attract a special attention\, thanks to the Under 35 project. In fact\, they can showcase their designs in some smaller spaces\, such as atriums of little-known buildings\, free of charge.\nOver the years\, the Under 35 project has become more structured. A scientific committee selects applications\, seeking to exhibit all works compatible with the theme. Ten projects from those selected will also be presented in an exhibition at the ADI Design Museum in Milan\, by next November. \nDiscover the Munich Creative Business Week  \nElia Maschio\, winner of Under 35 in 2024 \nThe 2025 edition expect about 30 projects\, coming from about 20 locations in Italy. Some groups\, such as the Rimini designers\, will share a common space\, while others will showcase their designs in smaller venues. This year\, the majority of participants are already active professionals\, sometimes with small businesses – a fact that confirms the value and attractiveness of the event. \nGenova Design Week beyond the historic center\nSince 2024\, Genova Design Week has expanded its horizons with the Container project\, which takes place in the Porto Vecchio area and reaches its second edition in 2025. Simona Finessi is the curator for 2025 of this project\, started in 2024 from an idea of Mario Dalle Sasse\, founder of the Genoese studio DLA. \nSpazio Giustiniani \nThe project aims to reinterpret the container\, a unique symbol of the city’s port vocation\, as an exhibition space and a place for reflection. The 2025 edition involves exclusively female professionals: twenty-one female architects\, individually or in teams\, designed installations for thirteen containers. Cinzia Anguissola D’Altoè\, a reference figure of the group in terms of experience and professional background\, designed the main installation\, placed in front of the Galata del Mare Museum. \nThe project aims to popularize the culture of design\, bringing design closer to everyday life. It is not about educating about beauty – a concept already rooted in Italian culture – as much as it is about showing how the work of an architect can improve even the simplest spaces. Design is presented as a process affecting living and personal well-being\, transforming homes into more functional\, welcoming and meaningful spaces.\nContainer thus aims to be a bridge between design and real life\, with the intention of making it accessible to everyone\, not just those with big budgets. \nGenova Design Week\, Genoa\, May 21-25\, 2025\nFor professionals and general public\nSize: 122 events\, 160 exhibitors\, 20\,000 visitors\nVarious locations \nVisit Didegenova.it for info

Together\, they present the Young Design Generation Open Call Exhibition\, spotlighting emerging design talent. \nMarco Sousa santos\, showroom Branca Lisboa \nA new digital platform\nA major development for 2025 is the launch of a new digital platform. Designed by ABM Studio\, the website functions as a Progressive Web Application (PWA). It enables visitors to customize their experience based on interests\, locations\, and schedules. The platform\, launched in early May\, supports both Portuguese and English. It offers tools to explore events\, discover venues\, and connect with featured designers. \nThe new website extends beyond Lisbon Design Week. It will continue to serve as a curated space for design content year-round. ABM Studio\, known for its cultural and artistic digital platforms\, also worked on Les Rencontres d’Arles and Louis Vuitton City Guides. \nEach year\, Lisbon Design Week commissions a young graphic designer to create its official poster. Bernardo Berga is the designer of the 2025 poster: his work combines bold graphic language with urban and digital influences.  \nThe 2025 program\nDuring the five-day event\, attendees can visit 95 venues across the city. Locations include creative studios\, ateliers\, shops\, hotels\, architecture offices\, and private venues. Participants were encouraged to present Portuguese design using local materials. Many collaborated with designers\, craftspeople\, brands\, and artists to build unique showcases. \nLisbon Design Week participants will host a variety of events. These include product launches\, workshops\, exhibitions\, talks\, screenings\, showroom openings\, and immersive experiences. SUMMARY:NeoCon Chicago\, the office interior design show
DESCRIPTION:NeoCon is North America’s most important trade show\, dedicated to office interior design. It has taken place annually in June at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart since 1969. The next edition takes place June 9-11\, 2025. \nThe Merchandise Mart in Chicago \nThe post-World War II period was a testament to human resilience and creativity in adversity. In Europe\, architects and designers\, despite the need to rebuild from rubble and scarce finances\, invented innovative solutions that have left an indelible mark in history. Even in the United States\, where reconstruction was not a necessity\, the level of creative production in contract interior design in the mid-century was nothing short of astounding. Florence Knoll\, a pioneer in her own right\, brought together renowned designers and architects to create furniture for Knoll\, while leading the way in office design. George Nelson and Robert Propst\, with their visionary thinking\, conceived Herman Miller’s Action Office. \nDiscover IDS – Interior Design Show in Toronto  \nIn this sparkling mood\, the first International Contract Exposition and Congress took place in 1967 at Chicago’s McCormick Place\, with more than 200 exhibitors in office design and furniture fields. Unfortunately\, a fire destroyed the venue\, and the Merchandise Mart then became the site of the first NeoCon in Chicago. The first NeoCon\, which ran June 22-27\, 1969\, had 750 exhibitors. More than a hundred\, including moderators and speakers\, participated in the seminars and conferences.  \nDiscover Domotex 2024 \nThe NeoCon in Chicago \nA trade show for office and contract interior design\nIn the following decades\, many things happened in North America\, both in office interior design and furniture design. In 1973\, the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) was established. At the same time\, the American Institute of Decorators (AID) and the National Society of Interior Designers (NSID) came together in 1975\, to establish the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). IBM introduced the first PC in 1981\, and in 1984\, the first Apple Macintosh came out. Computers greatly influenced office interior design\, as computer use required new chairs and desks\, with different postures. Stylistically\, with the first Memphis exhibition in Milan in 1981\, Postmodernism spread from architecture to furniture. Manufacturers turned to well-known postmodern and deconstructivist architects\, such as Robert Venturi\, Frank Gehry\, and Peter Eisenman\, to design objects and furniture. \nDiscover the January Furniture Show \nThe Formica Colorcore\, 1983 \nMade in Italy at NeoCon Chicago\nIn 1982\, NeoCon witnessed its first international exhibition\, Italcenter\, on the eighth floor of the Merchandise Mart. Under the Italian Trade Commission (now ITA or ICE)\, Italcenter showcased the work of ten Italian companies\, in an exhibition design by the renowned Lella and Massimo Vignelli. These ten companies\, Skipper\, Bieffe\, Estel\, Fantoni\, Faram\, Giovannetti\, Skema\, Technolinea\, and Unifor\, represented the global reach of office design and furniture at NeoCon Chicago in 1982. \nDiscover CIFF Guangzhou 2024 \nThe Italcenter\, exhibition design by Lella and Massimo Vignelli\, 1982 \nNeoCon Chicago: 50 years of office interior and contract interior design \nFrom 1990 to the present\, NeoCon has been a platform for numerous events and innovations\, both in products and in display. 1990 marked the inception of the first Best of NeoCon award\, sponsored by Facilities Design and Management magazine. Today\, the prestigious award is sponsored by Contract magazine. In 2002\, Michael Braungart and William McDonough published ‘Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things\,’ a groundbreaking research that set the stage for sustainability in the industry. Since then\, companies have been actively working on process sustainability\, and trade shows like NeoCon have adapted to these changing times. \nToday\, NeoCon is one of the world’s most important trade fairs in the office design and furniture sector. The others are CIFF\, in Guangzhou\, and Orgatec\, which takes place every two years in October in Cologne\, Germany. \nWhy visit\nNeoCon is one of the world’s most influential and historic trade shows for office interior design; in fact\, the first edition took place in 1969. NeoCon is considered one of the leading platforms for launching product innovations; from here come trends in the office and contract sector\, which spread worldwide. Among the primary and already interesting features\, moreover\, NeoCon is a trade fair and exhibition\, where showroom and exhibition have always been of great importance. To name a few\, Arata Isozaki\, Michael Graves\, Robert A.M. Stern and Lella and Massimo Vignelli have designed showrooms at NeoCon. With more than 400 exhibitors\, about 100\,000 square meters\, and 50\,000 visitors\, NeoCon is among the world’s largest office and contract trade shows.\nThe next edition takes place June 10-12\, 2024 \nNeoCon\, Chicago\, June 9-11\, 2025\nFor professionals\, free entry upon registration\nSize: 400 brands\, 50\,000 visitors\nVisit Neocon.com for info

SUMMARY:Design Days
DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Design Days are\, above all\, a festival that celebrates the creative and productive dimensions of design through a pluralistic and transdisciplinary approach. The goal is to give professionals and enthusiasts a platform where industry players can showcase their work. Designers\, publishers\, manufacturers\, artisans\, galleries\, schools\, and foundations come together to share their values with the public in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere. The event offers a rich and diverse program featuring exhibitions\, events\, workshops\, conferences\, and installations. \nDiscover 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen \nStudents from ECAL deisgned the new Homeworks collection for Micasa \nThe Swiss creativity and expertise\nFor several years now\, the event spotlighted Swiss creativity and expertise\, thanks to the strong presence of local designers and manufacturers. As a unique platform\, Design Days have become the leading ambassadors of Swiss design across the French-speaking regions. \nFor 16 years\, the design festival championed a plural and transdisciplinary vision of design. Every year\, the festival brings together emerging talents and seasoned professionals through installations\, exhibitions\, debates\, and conferences held in unusual and unconventional locations – abandoned factories\, old cinemas\, hotels\, and in 2024\, a disused section of a train station. \n2024 Edition\nAfter several itinerant editions\, the event set up base at a new\, central\, and unique venue. The 15th edition unfolded at La Rasude\, an exceptional site located within Lausanne’s train station\, and hosted 63 designers – both emerging and established. The event showcased furniture\, lighting\, robotics\, and new technologies\, along with innovative projects\, prototypes\, and limited or serial editions\, including designs aimed at seniors. The Swiss Fashion Point curated a selection of 21 young talents in fashion\, jewelry\, and accessories. \nThe Design Dinners – immersive gastronomic experiences held on the rails – sold out completely. These dinners enchanted both eyes and palates by blending design and fine cuisine in a memorable\, sensory fusion. \nDiscover Clerkenwell Design Week  \nTeo Jakob studio reception\, among 2025 events \n2023 Edition\nFrom 16 to 25 November\, the 14th edition took participants on an urban journey through Geneva\, linking various neighborhoods and cultural axes. The event brought together around 30 venues and about 50 designers. By weaving together design culture and showcasing the emerging Swiss scene\, Design Days affirmed their status as a key event for promoting the creative force of design to both professionals and the general public. \nWith a spirit of openness and sharing\, the Swiss event aimed to build a strong design community\, raise awareness of design as a creative discipline\, and highlight its economic impact. The program included festive events\, meetings\, conferences\, roundtables\, and seminars\, enriching the experience for all participants. \nSwiss Plus takes part at 2025 edition \n2020 Edition\nDespite the cancellation of several major events\, the 12th edition of the festival adapted to health restrictions and went ahead in a new format. From 5 to 15 November 2020\, boutiques\, showrooms\, and workshops in Lausanne and the surrounding region hosted selected installations by designers. This kaleidoscope of micro-exhibitions supported local businesses\, designers\, artists\, and craftsmen. \nIn small\, safe group settings\, visitors explored contemporary Swiss creations across 24 venues in Lausanne and nearby areas. The only downside: the Signature room at Lausanne Palace and the USM Design Grant X ECAL installation at Flon remained closed to the public. \n2019 Edition\nThe year 2019 featured two editions of Design Days. The spring edition\, held as part of the Habitat-Jardin fair in Lausanne\, focused on interior decor with inspiration spaces and personalized design advice. From 26 to 29 September\, Design Days returned to the Pavillon Sicli in Geneva to highlight both emerging and established design labels. The program included conferences\, exhibitions\, and installations. \nThis 11th edition featured over 50 exhibitors\, 40 young creators\, student projects\, new publishers\, and the best of Swiss design. In partnership with HEAD – Geneva and Swiss Fashion Point\, the event spotlighted the energy and diversity of the national design scene. \nGirsberger takes part at 2025 edition \n2018 Edition\nIn 2018\, the design festival celebrated their 10th anniversary with a special edition. The main platform for design-related meetings and exchanges in French-speaking Switzerland set up at Expo Beaulieu Lausanne\, joining forces with the Habitat-Jardin fair. These two home-focused events combined to offer visitors a richer\, more varied\, qualitative\, and accessible experience. \nThe spotlight shone on Swiss creativity\, with young multi-talented designers\, student projects supported by the USM Foundation through the USM Design Grant\, and highly popular personalized decor consultations. The “Flair” trend debriefs\, high-tech exhibitions\, and innovative product showcases – thanks to the presence of the Swiss Design Prize – added further depth to the program. \nSwiss Design Awards 2018 \n2017 Edition\nThe 9th edition welcomed both professionals and the general public into the warm and inviting space of the Pavillon Sicli in Geneva. This edition served as a vibrant showcase for contemporary and forward-looking design. \nVisitors – over 8\,000 – were captivated by the diversity of creative worlds\, fresh innovations\, and the 100% Swiss design labels presented. The USM Foundation awarded its first-ever CHF 25\,000 USM Design Grant to a HEAD – Geneva student. Under the guidance of Albert Schrurs\, students in an interior architecture workshop imagined the future of workplaces\, homes\, and living environments. \nThe event also renewed its partnership with Swiss Fashion Point and welcomed over 30 fashion exhibitors\, covering clothing\, accessories\, and jewelry. \n2016 Edition\nThe 8th edition in Renens at the former Mayer & Soutter workshops and marked a new milestone. By welcoming German-speaking Swiss companies for the first time\, the French-speaking event took a step toward national recognition\, solidifying its status as a respected platform throughout Switzerland. \nDespite a challenging market\, the edition delivered a rich and diverse offering. Around 70 labels\, showrooms\, publishers\, young designers\, and stylists presented a wide and representative cross-section of the design market. The city becomes a living laboratory for innovation and tradition. \nDiscover Designmonat Graz \nRidon by RossLovegrove \nWhite Carrara: Design here and now\nThe 2025 theme\, Design Here and Now\, pushes design into the present. It invites designers to work directly with white Carrara marble\, creating original works for this event. Last year\, the focus was on past design objects. This year\, artists create new pieces\, tailored specifically for the exhibition. They reinterpret a centuries-old material with modern tools. Robotics now plays a key role in shaping marble. The Tuscany Region offers sponsorship. Fondazione Marmo provides funding. Nausicaa spa and ERP Massa Carrara spa offer technical support. \nWhite Carrara involves the whole city: companies\, workshops\, institutions\, and cultural groups take part; streets and squares become active design spaces. SUMMARY:FIND Singapore - Design Fair Asia: a global showcase
DESCRIPTION:From returning highlights to exciting debuts\, FIND Singapore shines a spotlight on the pulse of design across Asia and Europe – all at Southeast Asia’s most influential design fair. FIND – Design Fair Asia 2025\, a flagship event of Singapore Design Week\, returns from 11 to 13 September 2025 at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre\, reaffirming its position as the region’s premier design platform with a steadily expanding global reach. This edition centres on a vibrant showcase of national pavilions\, each reflecting its country’s evolving design story. \nStretching from Europe to Southeast Asia\, the pavilions illustrate both diversity and the shared ideals driving today’s global design scene. Italy\, a founding presence at FIND\, returns with leading furniture and interior brands. Joining them are Singapore\, Thailand\, Czech Republic\, and Indonesia\, along with collective pavilions from France\, Hong Kong\, and Taiwan – each contributing unique perspectives and craftsmanship. Together\, these pavilions affirm FIND’s role as more than a marketplace: it is a crossroads for cultural exchange and design diplomacy. \nDiscover Singapore Design Week 2025 \nFind Singapore 2025 \nASEAN: an emerging market \nIn an era of shifting supply chains\, tariff uncertainties\, and intensifying global trade tensions\, design and furniture brands are increasingly looking to Asia – especially ASEAN – as a resilient\, high-growth region of more than 680 million people. Vietnam has become the world’s second-largest furniture exporter\, with yearly exports surpassing USD 10 billion\, fuelled in part by US-China trade realignment. With the ASEAN furniture market projected to grow over 5% CAGR through 2029\, the region offers not only cost efficiencies and favourable trade terms\, but also strong domestic demand propelled by urbanisation and an expanding middle class. Southeast Asia is firmly positioned as a critical driver of global design and furniture growth. \nLuxury developments such as Singapore’s Park Nova and Bangkok’s The Residences at Mandarin Oriental are also boosting demand for premium interiors. Hospitality is another major force: Hilton’s Asia Pacific portfolio surpassed 1\,000 operating hotels in December 2024\, a sharp jump from 761 the year before and ahead of its 2025 target. Accor has signed 27 new projects\, adding 8\,100 keys across ASEAN markets including Singapore\, Indonesia\, and Vietnam. Indonesia and Thailand are seeing a surge of luxury villas\, resorts\, and serviced apartments in Bali and Phuket. As high-end resorts and boutique hotels proliferate\, demand for sustainable\, design-led\, and durable furniture is climbing. This creates a prime opportunity for brands offering bespoke craftsmanship and eco-conscious materials to become preferred partners in ASEAN’s fast-evolving hospitality ecosystem. \nDiscover SingFEST 2025 \nFind Singapore 2024 \nItalian Pavilion at FIND Singapore 2025 \nSupported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA)\, the Italian Pavilion once again brings a strong selection of companies embodying Italy’s reputation for design excellence\, innovation\, and lifestyle. DESCRIPTION:The Tallinn Design Festival (TDF)\, the largest design festival in the region\, marks its 20th anniversary in 2025 with a wide-ranging program under the slogan “Design for All”. Over the years\, the festival has become an essential platform for design professionals\, enthusiasts\, students\, and communities\, while continually emphasizing accessibility\, inclusivity\, and human-centered thinking. \nThe festival is built on four core pillars: talks and exhibitions that highlight success stories for both experts and the general public; community-focused events that bring people together through design; a diverse and ever-growing satellite program; and design commerce\, where creativity meets entrepreneurship. Recognized internationally\, the festival has received the EFFE quality label from the European Festivals Association.\nThe next edition takes place September 29-October 5\, 2025\n \nDiscover Gdynia Design Days  \nTallinn Design Festival 2024. Photo Kaie Kiil \nTallinn Krulli Quarter: design festival hub\nFor its anniversary edition\, Tallinn Design Festival once again places strong emphasis on context and venue. The festival hub will be the Krulli Quarter\, where historic industrial architecture meets contemporary creativity. For the third year running\, events will unfold in the atmospheric setting of the quarter’s metal plant\, creating a dynamic backdrop for design discussions\, exhibitions\, and performances. \nAcross the course of a single week\, nearly 100 diverse events will explore how design can enrich everyday life and foster a world where empathy\, care\, and inclusivity are the norm rather than the exception. The mission of TDF is to make design less abstract and more approachable—something everyone can understand\, access\, and engage with. \nDiscover Taiwan Design Expo 2024 \nTallinn Design Festival 2024. Photo Kevin Loigu \nInclusive design: a central theme\nA central theme of the 2025 program is inclusive design\, which acknowledges that every individual’s unique needs\, experiences\, and circumstances matter. This perspective invites participants to reflect on how factors such as size\, shape\, age\, gender\, sexuality\, ethnicity\, education\, income\, culture\, customs\, or diet influence the ways we navigate the world. It further challenges designers to ensure that these differences are thoughtfully integrated into the products\, spaces\, and services we create. \nThe international conference: Celebrating Diversity\, Creating Equality\nThe highlight of this edition is the international conference “Design for All: Celebrating Diversity\, Creating Equality.” This landmark event brings together world-renowned experts and accessibility advocates\, including Patricia Moore (USA)\, Rama Gheerawo (UK)\, Jakob Rosin (Estonia)\, Cameron Sinclair (USA)\, and other leading specialists from the USA\, Norway\, Belgium\, Italy\, Poland\, Denmark\, and Estonia. The conference is organised in cooperation with EIDD – Design For All Europe and the Estonian Chamber of Disabled People. \nIn Estonia\, the conversation around inclusive design is particularly urgent. With a rapidly ageing population and shifting demographics\, there is a growing need for innovative and thoughtful design solutions that work for all citizens. \nDiscover Paris Design Week 2025 \nTallinn Design Festival 2024. SUMMARY:EDIT Napoli 2025
DESCRIPTION:Everything is set for the seventh edition of EDIT Napoli\, open to the public from 10 to 12 October 2025 (press preview on 9 October). Once again\, the event reaffirms its role as a dynamic\, evolving platform in the realm of independent and editorial design. \nThis year\, EDIT Napoli broadens its reach\, taking place not only in the evocative spaces of La Santissima—the fair’s headquarters welcoming national and international exhibitors—but also in the prestigious venues of the Vomero National Museums Complex: Castel Sant’Elmo\, the Certosa di San Martino\, and Villa Floridiana. These will host the CULT exhibitions of this edition. The choice of such sites highlights the multifaceted spirit of EDIT Napoli\, offering design as a constantly evolving experience and inviting visitors to rediscover Naples from fresh perspectives. Movement becomes the leitmotif of the event\, merging architectural heritage with contemporary creativity in a living dialogue between history and the city’s current design scene.  \nDiscover Lake Como Design Festival \nEDIT Napoli 2025: La Santissima\, photo Alessandra Mustilli\, courtesy EDIT Napoli \nThe fair once more highlights the work of returning exhibitors while introducing new talents. Among the confirmed participants are former award-winners Atelier Nuanda and Bianco67 with Parasite\, alongside long-standing presences like ARTIERI 1895\, Eleit.it\, BLOK Design\, and Incalmi. New entries include Heike Buchfelder\, Fornace Brioni\, Made of Matter\, People of the Sun\, Studio Bojola\, and Utòl\, further enriching an increasingly diverse showcase. Spanish participation also grows thanks to the España Diseño Mediterráneo initiative\, in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Naples. \nCastel Sant’Elmo. The winners will gain the opportunity to showcase their work free of charge at EDIT Napoli 2026. \nCastel Sant’Elmo. Photo Courtesy of Direzione regionale Musei nazionali Campania Ministero della Cultura \nThe 2025 edition also confirms collaboration with the LABÒ Cultural Project\, curated by The Design Blender. This year\, LABÒ focuses on a symbolic connection between Genoa and Naples – two ports\, two design cultures\, and a shared vision of the future. Within this framework\, Massimiliano Dalle Sasse will present at EDIT the D Lab collection by Davide Balda\, an innovative line created with Nuno Felt\, a recycled-fibre fabric shaped by artisanal processes. Thanks to this partnership\, EDIT Napoli winners will also present their work during Milan Design Week 2026 as part of LABÒ Cultural Project. \nRead more about Milan Design Week 2026 \nAnother highlight is the continued collaboration with DesignWanted\, which will bring to EDIT Napoli Shellf Life by Felicia Neuhof. Selected during the ENHANCE program at Milan Design Week\, Neuhof’s project transforms discarded oyster\, mussel\, and clam shells into sustainable building materials—an eco-friendly\, zero-mile alternative to cement and plastics. \nLa Santissima and set design\nThe frescoed vaults of La Santissima—once one of Europe’s largest monasteries—become a hub of contemporary creativity\, also thanks to a redevelopment program supported by Urban Value. Founded by a noblewoman who rejected an arranged marriage to pursue her calling\, La Santissima lies between Quartieri Spagnoli and Montesanto\, embodying EDIT Napoli’s mission to connect the city’s diverse layers. This play of perspectives defines the spirit of the seventh edition\, offering a renewed vision of Naples and its design identity. \nWithin La Santissima\, the Main area and Seminario (dedicated to emerging designers under 30 or projects less than three years old) will be staged in installations curated by Lemonot (Sabrina Morreale and Lorenzo Perri). Their concept contrasts ethereal surfaces with bold material structures. At the entrance\, a monumental suspended framework of steel tubes\, hooks\, and cables recalls port architecture and maritime imagery. This theme extends to Thalassa textiles by Teresa Carnuccio\, made with cyanotype techniques to evoke flowing waves draped like sails. Seating and lighting by Milani\, along with Ranieri’s lava stone benches and counters\, guide the path and shape resting areas. The interplay of metal\, fabric\, and stone continues into the bookshop\, where warm tones merge with the site’s historic architecture to create harmonious atmospheres. \nLa Santissima\, EDIT Napoli 2025 \nEDIT CULT\nFor the first time\, EDIT Napoli collaborates with the Vomero National Museums Complex\, reinforcing the event’s mission of exchange and cross-pollination. Alongside the fair at La Santissima\, CULT exhibitions will be staged in Castel Sant’Elmo\, Certosa di San Martino\, and Villa Floridiana\, featuring leading designers and multidimensional narratives that merge heritage\, art\, and design in a dialogue between past\, present\, and future. \nCertosa di San Martino\n\nAlvaro Catalán de Ocón: PET Lamp Gurunsi – Shadows\, textile and the Frafra weavers (Ninfeo)\nAzucena: Unseen visions (Refettorio)\nBethan Laura Wood for Poltronova: Terrazzo Quarry (Loggia del Priore)\n\nCastel Sant’Elmo\n\nLuca Boscardin for Magis: Animal Factory (Piazza d’Armi)\nDiego Rivero Borrell (TANAT) for Ranieri: Paisaje de Reflejos (Piazza d’Armi)\n\nVilla Floridiana\n\nMarta Sala Éditions: Il Tempo della Forma – A tribute to the city and ten years of the brand 2015–2025\nElena Salmistraro for Officine Tamborrino: Nomadaria\nTomás Alía (Estudio Caramba): Finestra celata\n\nWhy visit\nFrom 10 to 12 October 2025\, Naples becomes an open stage for independent and authorial design with the seventh edition of EDIT Napoli. DESCRIPTION:From 18 – 26 October 2025\, Eindhoven once again becomes a playground for design as Dutch Design Week (DDW25) celebrates its 25th edition under the theme Past. Present. Possible. For nine days\, the city transforms into a living lab where more than 2\,500 designers\, design schools\, ministries\, and global brands explore how design shapes the future. Spread across 120 venues\, DDW stands among the world’s most influential design events. \nThis 25th anniversary edition will draw around 350\,000 visitors from the Netherlands and abroad. The city will hum with creative energy\, featuring major names such as HEMA and Vattenfall. Esteemed designers including Sabine Marcelis\, Stefan Diez\, Piet Hein Eek\, and Kiki & Joost will exhibit alongside emerging talent from 35 European design schools. Under the collective title Class of 25\, institutions such as Design Academy Eindhoven\, the Swedish School of Textiles\, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna will present the next generation of innovators. \nDiscover Dutch Design Week 2024 \nRain Cafè at Dutch Design Week 2025 \nProgramme Highlights\nBridging Minds | Van Abbemuseum\nThe Van Abbemuseum presents Bridging Minds\, an exhibition of 100 works by leading designers and artists curated by DDW co-founder Miriam van der Lubbe. The show features Klarenbeek & Dros\, Maarten Baas\, Jalila Essaïdi\, Formafantasma\, Hella Jongerius\, and Marcos Kueh. Each work explores how design connects people\, disciplines\, and ideas\, turning reflection into tangible impact. \nGrand Projects | Across the City\nLarge-scale installations return with Grand Projects\, DDW’s outdoor exhibition of monumental works across Eindhoven. Some reach ten metres high\, transforming public spaces into immersive environments. Designers including Pauline van Dongen and Thijs Biersteker contribute striking installations that merge art\, architecture\, and sustainability. \nSignature and Collectible Objects: Forward Furniture | De Caai\nA former factory hall in De Caai district becomes a stage for collectible design. Curated by Liv Vaisberg\, Forward Furniture explores the evolution of furniture through an aesthetic lens. The exhibition celebrates craftsmanship\, innovation\, and the dialogue between functionality and art. \nStep into 2050\, in 2025\nDutch Design Week is not a showcase of finished products but a gathering place for ideas in progress. It welcomes experimentation\, doubt\, and collaboration. Expect daring projects exploring climate solutions\, AI experiments\, and sustainable materials. \nAt DDW25\, the future isn’t something to anticipate—it’s something to create together. \nCreating Greater Impact Together\nDesign thrives through collaboration. DDW25 works with brands such as Brabantia\, Hydro\, Sweco\, Rabobank\, Accenture\, HEMA\, Vattenfall\, and mobility partner Xpeng to push innovation with purpose. \nGovernment ministries\, including Education\, Culture and Science; Home Affairs; Health\, Justice and Security; and Defence\, will highlight how design can tackle social challenges. Key partners such as Nieuwe Instituut\, Waag Futurelab\, Stimuleringsfonds\, ClickNL\, and Trudo contribute to building an ambitious and inspiring programme. \nDesign enhances daily life while addressing global issues—from climate change and social inequality to emerging technologies. The curatorial approach behind Bridging Minds focuses on action and contribution rather than reflection. Each selected piece demonstrates how design drives transformation and shapes the future. \nEindhoven itself plays a central role as the Netherlands’ design capital—a place where technology\, design\, and knowledge converge. \nTen Rooms\, Ten Themes\nBridging Minds spans ten rooms in the Old Building of the Van Abbemuseum\, each devoted to a theme illustrating what design means for individuals and society. \nOne space explores safety and protection\, featuring work by Jalila Essaïdi and Bas Timmer. Another examines the relationship between humans and technology\, with pieces by László Moholy-Nagy and Ricky van Broekhoven transforming tech into sensory experience. \nElsewhere\, designs by Alissa+Nienke and Dan Graham address care and well-being through smart tools\, unconventional materials\, and soothing forms. The remaining rooms investigate connection\, inclusion\, empowerment\, innovation\, nature\, raw materials\, and freedom—together offering a panoramic view of contemporary design. \n \nEleven Outdoor Installations Across Eindhoven\nDuring Dutch Design Week 2025 (18–26 October)\, Eindhoven becomes an open-air gallery once again. Across its central squares and public spaces\, eleven large-scale installations by international designers take shape. Each explores how design fuels social imagination and inspires radical futures—from generating new forms of energy to rethinking emergency housing. \nThe installations emerged from an open call that allowed the design community to define its own priorities. The result is a citywide exhibition that connects professionals and the public\, creating space for experimentation and discovery. \nFreely accessible throughout Eindhoven\, the works invite everyone to engage directly with design. Highlights include: \nEconario by Thijs Biersteker\nHow political choices ripple through nature\nA data-driven installation that makes political decision-making visible\, Econario shows how today’s policies affect tomorrow’s ecosystems\, translating abstract issues into tangible experiences. \nDutch Design Week\, Econario 2022. The Umbra Pavilion envisions a future where energy generation integrates seamlessly into everyday environments. \nFactory 5.0 by Aditya Mandlik\nWorms that dismantle buildings\nTen thousand mealworms consume polystyrene in Factory 5.0\, redefining architecture as something designed to decompose. The project challenges ideas about permanence\, circularity\, and ecological repair. \nCity At Sea Level by Bahar Orçun\nA submerged future\nA sunken cityscape reveals the consequences of rising sea levels. City At Sea Level immerses visitors in a stark vision of the world shaped by climate inaction. \nThe Waiting Room by Nanne Brouwer\nDignity in emergency accommodation: privacy is rare in asylum shelters\, where residents often share bedrooms. The Waiting Room proposes a humane alternative for temporary housing built on personal space and dignity\, questioning how society treats vulnerable groups. \n \nWhy Visit?\nDutch Design Week is more than an exhibition—it’s a citywide experience of creativity\, innovation\, and imagination. Visitors encounter installations\, talks\, and live experiments that reveal how design influences every aspect of life. \nWhether you’re a professional\, a student\, or simply curious\, DDW25 offers a chance to explore ideas before they reach the mainstream and to see design as an active force for social progress. \nDutch Design Week\, October 18-26\, 2025\nFor professionals and general public\, upon registration – (some events request entry fee)\nSize: 2500+ designers\, 100 venues\, 350\,000 visitors\nVisit website ddw.nl for more info

SUMMARY:Dubai Design Week 2025
DESCRIPTION:Dubai Design Week 2025\, taking place from 4-9 November 2025\, marks the event’s 11th edition at Dubai Design District (d3). The week-long festival stands as the Middle East’s leading platform for design and creativity\, bringing together architects\, designers\, brands\, universities\, and cultural institutions from around the world. Through exhibitions\, installations\, talks\, workshops\, activations\, and fairs\, Dubai Design Week highlights how design fosters innovation\, sustainability\, and cross-cultural dialogue. \nDiscover Dubai Design Week 2024 \nDubai Design Week Installations \nAbwab – Regional Design Platform\nAbwab (Arabic for “doors”) remains one of Dubai Design Week’s signature initiatives\, supporting creative practitioners from West\, South\, and East Asia and Africa through annually commissioned pavilions. Since its inception\, Abwab has featured over 180 designers from 15+ countries\, reflecting regional narratives within global design conversations. \nThe 2025 theme\, In the Details\, invites architects\, researchers\, and designers to explore ornamentation as a language of design. It challenges participants to reinterpret traditional motifs\, surfaces\, and patterns as immersive spatial experiences – drawing from the ornamental histories of architecture\, textiles\, and craft to express new material and aesthetic relationships. \nThe 2025 commission\, titled “Stories of the Isle and the Inlet”\, is presented by Maraj\, a Bahrain-based architecture and design platform founded by Latifa Alkhayat and Maryam Aljomairi. Their installation explores the ecological and cultural identity of Nabih Saleh\, a Bahraini island situated between Tubli’s wetlands and Sitra’s industrial zone. Combining oral histories with ornament and textile craft\, the work reflects on a vanishing landscape\, merging embroidery\, storytelling\, and environmental awareness. Created with local artisans and inspired by the thob al nashil\, the installation’s embroidered mesh structure visualizes native flora\, fauna\, and the tidal rhythms of Tubli Bay\, underscoring the interdependence of craft\, ecology\, and architecture. \nDiscover Downtown Design Dubai 2025 \n \nUrban Commissions – Designing for Public Space\nThe Urban Commissions competition returns in 2025 with the theme “Courtyard”\, examining this spatial typology as a vital form of communal urban infrastructure. Designers were invited to reinterpret the courtyard as both architectural and social space – balancing openness and enclosure\, public and private\, intimacy and interaction. \nThe winning project\, “When Does a Threshold Become a Courtyard?”\, is by Some Kind of Practice\, a UAE-based studio founded by Omar Darwish and Abdulla Abbas. The work explores the housh (الحوش) – the traditional Emirati courtyard—through shifting walls\, open thresholds\, and the transitional presence of the liwan (الليوان). Drawing on fieldwork across coastal and mountain settlements\, the project reframes the courtyard not as a fixed typology but as a dynamic condition shaped by climate\, craft\, airflow\, and movement – a living intersection of design\, behavior\, and environment. \nInstallations\nMore than 30 installations will populate Dubai Design District (d3) during the 2025 edition. These large-scale\, site-specific works investigate how design\, science\, and technology can reclaim materials from the past while advancing sustainable futures. Participating architects and studios will showcase interactive and conceptual projects that transform the urban landscape into a design laboratory open to all. \nDiscover Milan Design Week 2025 \nInstallation at Dubai Design Week 2024 \nWorkshops – The Maker Space\nWorkshops take place in the Maker Space – Made by Mart®\, a pop-up hub dedicated to experimentation and education.
