SUMMARY:Paris Design Week 2024
DESCRIPTION:From September 5 to 14\, along with Maison&Objet\, Paris Design Week 2024 is back in Paris. Ten days in which the streets of Paris are full of events related to the world of design and the trade show. Established in 2010\, Paris Design Week in 2024 is in its fourteenth edition. Every September\, the city comes alive with many events that attract professionals and the general public to discover trends in design and lifestyle. \nDiscover Maison&Objet September 2024 \nJoséphine Balayn\, Galerie Ellia \nCreated in 2010 by Maison&Objet\, Paris Design Week aims to revitalize the city every September\, raising awareness among the general public and professionals about the latest trends in the world of design\, decoration and the art of living. Paris Design Week is also an opportunity for design lovers to experience Paris in a different light. The temporary installations created by designers\, in fact\, are open and free to all. \nA feature of Paris Design Week\, in September 2024\, is to highlight artisans and designers; the Paris Design Week Factory is a springboard for emerging talent. Schools\, designers and cultural centers\, catalysts of talent\, come together\, to reveal the many expressions of design. Some historical institutions offer their private mansions\, which thus become destinations for alternative walks to discover the secret contemporary design in Paris. \nDiscover more on Maison&Objet  \nRaphaël Kao\, Galerie Joseph Turenne \nParis Design Week September 2024: places to visit\, exhibitions to see\nRive Gauche – in Saint-Germain-des-Prés\, you can stroll through galleries and showrooms to see the most exclusive furniture collections. \nOpéra/Concorde/Étoile – the vibrant rive droite\, with the showrooms and stores of international luxury. \nMarais/Bastille/République – the artistic heart of the capital\, home to young designers\, collectible contemporary design galleries\, and artisans. \nPalais-Royal/Place des Victoires/Pigalle – the new center of attraction for all the latest fashions\, with textile and carpet designers based in and around Rue du Mail. \nThe outdoor exhibitions\nDesign Sur Cours invites designers to design installations in the courtyards and gardens of some of the world’s most important monuments. These exhibitions create creating a dialogue between classical architecture and contemporary design. \nAmong the various exhibitions will be Eau Fraîche at the Hôtel de Soubise\, an installation by designer Lucas Huillet and perfumer Alexandre Helwani. British designer Paul Cocksedge\, on the other hand\, creates reflections in mirrors\, at the Orangerie and in the gardens of the Hôtel de Sully at Place des Vosges. In the lower courtyard of the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris\, the wood industry FIBOIS presents the Bois Français & Design 2024 competition winners\, with canopies\, benches\, and compost bins. In the upper courtyard Jean-Baptiste Durand\, Prisca Razafindrakoto and Simon Geringer present their contemporary version of a village square. The goal is to design street furniture adapted to climate change. \nHôtel de Soubise\, 60 Rue des Francs Bourgeois\, 75003 Paris\nHôtel de Sully\, 5 Place des Vosges\, 75004 Paris\nBibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris\, 24 Rue Pavée\, 75004 Paris \nDiscover Maison&Objet January 2024 \nKOZ – Stand FIBOIS \nGraphisme à ciel ouvert – graphic projects in the open air\nThe Paris Bureau du Design\, de la Mode et des Métiers d’Art\, with the Écrire la Ville association led by graphic designer Silvia Dore\, in collaboration with Paris Design Week\, organizes an exhibition in the former Caserne des Minimes. The walls of the courtyard host an exhibition of graphic design\, as well as a collaborative textile art installation designed by the Société Choletaise de Fabrication (SCF)\, which has its headquarters here. Artist Anaïs Beaulieu invites citizens to create a collective work of “urban embroidery” using waste materials made available by the SCF. Graphisme à ciel ouvert also sees the participation of several graphic arts libraries\, including Eyrolles\, in the Latin Quarter. \nCaserne des Minimes – 12 Rue de Béarn\, 75003 Paris\nLibrairie Eyrolles – 55 Boulevard Saint-Germain\, 75005 Paris\nQG – 4 Place du Louvre\, 75001 Paris \nHôtel de la Marine: Uchronia and Pierre Renart\nThe Uchronia studio displays a four-poster bed in the central courtyard\, as an ode to the Hôtel de la Marine\, a former royal furniture depot. Standing as tall as an acropolis on a ceramic platform\, it transforms the installation into a public square. The ceramic tiles\, produced by the Dutch brand Palet\, pick up the colors of the quarters’ dwellings: the red of Pierre-Élisabeth de Fontanieu’s bedroom and the turquoise blue of the physics cabinet. Atop its pedestal\, the XXL ceremonial bed sports an exuberant array of drapery and pillows. Cabinetmaker Pierre Renart\, meanwhile\, presents an original work here with the Maison Parisienne gallery. Inspired by the theme of travel\, he has taken up the headquarters courtyard and its 18th-century architecture with Escale\, a wraparound hammock made of wooden slats. \nDiscover CIFF Shanghai 2024 \nChinese brand Moreless\, Paris Design Week September 2024 \nThe electric Renault 5 E-Tech\nThe electric Renault 5 E-Tech arrives in Paris. Organized by DesignSingapore Council (DSG)\, the design festival\, which debuted in 2005\, is one of Asia’s premier design festivals that celebrates Singapore’s distinctive brand of creativity. It will traverse the city-state with a rich and thought-provoking program curated around this year’s theme\, “People of Design.” \nSingapore Design Week 2024 will celebrate the everyday visionaries who shape our society through design\, united by their collective aspiration to enhance our life experience. “Singapore has a distinct vision and approach\, driven by a desire to drive positive change worldwide through design. We invite all groups and communities to join us in Singapore and participate in a wide range of specially curated programs.  \nDiscover Milan Design Week \nExhibition Playground of Possibilities\, Singapore Design Week 2023 \nThrough being at this year’s festival\, we hope everyone will gain a deeper appreciation for the role of design and find inspiration to bring larger design outcomes to the fore”\, says Jody Teo\, Festival Director of SDW 2024.  \nRefreshed content aligned to festival pillars \nA suite of engaging key programs reflects the festival’s three pillars: Design Futures\, Design Marketplace\, and Design Impact. DSG thus works closely with leading industry experts to inform\, intrigue\, and inspire all participants at this year’s SDW. Design Futures will explore the future of design through Singapore’s forward-looking lens\, aiming to prototype a better future for us all. ‘Upholding this pillar’ is SDW’s flagship Design Futures Forum\, which returns with an expanded format that spans two days. \nDesign Futures Forum at Singapore Design Week 2024\nKeynote speaker and “godmother of the metaverse” Cathy Hackl (CEO\, Spatial Dynamics) will join segment curators\, Singapore-based venture capitalist Debra Langley(Venture Partner\, LyraVentures)\, Aric Chen (General and Artistic Director\, Het Nieuwe Instituut)\, and DesignSingaporeCouncil’s Tamsin Greulich-Smith (Director\, School of X) to usher in insights from fellow thought leaders on design’s critical role in areas of Emerging Technology\, Sustainability and Care. Through thought-provoking presentations\, engaging panel discussions\, and interactive hands-on sessions\, the role of design and designers in the face of rapidly advancing technologies will be thoroughly examined\, encouraging participants to enact change in their own spheres of influence after that. Design Marketplace will unite lifestyle trends from around the world with the fast-growing design community of the Southeast Asia region.  \nDiscover Milan Design Week 2024 \n \nFIND–Design Fair Asia\, a design trade fair\, presents its third edition at Marina Bay Sands on 26 to 28 September 2024. \nEMERGE@FIND\, DSG’s talent showcase dedicated to Southeast Asian contemporary design\, curated by Suzy Annetta of Design Anthology\, returns with the theme of ‘These Precious Things.’ Over 50 emerging and established designers from Indonesia\, Malaysia\, the Philippines\, Singapore\, Thailand\, and Vietnam will present new works that explore internal and external value ideas. This new iteration\, Repair+\, focuses on mending the mind and spirit through donated objects collected in collaboration with the Yishun Health Singapore healthcare network. \nMarina Design District at Singapore Design Week 2024\nThis year\, the expanded Marina Design District will feature Marina Central for the first time\, alongside the iconic Marina Bay area. Helming curatorial duties at Marina Central is Nathan Yong\, founder of the eponymous multidisciplinary studio. As one of Singapore’s most recognized and awarded designers\, Yong will present Neu Folk: Bridging Tradition and Future in Design. It’s a series of activations that merges communities’ collective spirit with the future-thinking vision of Singaporean design. \nKey highlights include the Design Pavilion at Millenia Walk\, which will house a curated exhibition\, talks\, retail experiences\, and workshops on sustainability and innovation. SUMMARY:Pietrasanta Design Week-end 2024
DESCRIPTION:The third edition of Pietrasanta Design Week-end runs in Pietrasanta\, Tuscany\, from September 26 to 29\, 2024.  \nThe 2024 edition of Pietrasanta Design Week-end\, an initiative founded by Paola Silva Coronel\, takes place over three days\, with a rich program of exhibitions\, installations and talks.  \nThe common thread of this edition is the hallmark. That is\, an invitation to brands and designers to show and tell themselves through their cultural background\, emphasizing the difference that distinguishes artistic production from industrial production. \nSpeaking of industrial production and design\, an unprecedented duo\, Giulio Cappellini and Giulio Iacchetti\, arrives at the Church of Saint Augustine to stage the Versilia of all time. “Abitiamo alla marinara (We live seafaring-style)” tells the design of yesterday and today through four islands + 1 dedicated to life on the beach\, from relaxation to sports\, food\, and play. The +1 island is dedicated to a new outdoor furniture collection\, designed by Giulio Iacchetti for Ezio Foppa Pedretti and presented here exclusively.  \nDiscover Courmayeur Design Week-end \nPietrasanta Design Week-end 2024. Photo Giacomo Buzio\, courtesy Pietrasanta Design Week-end \nDesign in Tuscany\nBetween art and design\, two of the contents on display inside the Cloister unfold. The Sala dei Putti hosts a photography exhibition curated by Alberto Mattia Martini with shots by max&douglas\, whose title is “Inside Artist.” The collection of artists’ portraits premiers in Pietrasanta. In the Sala del Capitolo\, a painter\, Pilar Saltini\, signs canvases that become the setting for an installation of Kartell products\, curated by FABRIC. In a dialogue between art and design\, the visitor’s gaze travels into the infinite space of the polychrome canvases\, starting from the shapes and colors typical of the Kartell universe. \nPietrasanta Design Week-end 2023 \nArchitecture and design in magical Versilia\nIn the Chiostro di Sant’Agostino (Cloister of St. Augustine)\, between the arcade and the gardens\, is an installation by GBPA Architects for Medit\, with lamps by Dixpari. In Duomo Square\, a green installation by Silvia Ghirelli and Giuseppe Tortato Architetti for Kindof and VilleGiardini magazine is back. \nAlso outside the Complex\, in the magical quadrilateral of the Giardino della Lumaca (Snail Garden)\, 967Arch rethinks the green space by staging an open-air lounge signed FIM/CORO\, with the green touch of Silvia Ghirelli\, a land artist who already signed one of the most appreciated installations last year. \nDiscover Courmayeur Design Week-end 2024 \nPietrasanta Design Week-end 2024. Photo Giacomo Buzio\, courtesy Pietrasanta Design Week-end \nDesign by the beach in Forte dei Marmi\nFrom the Apuan Alps\, the gaze and thoughts run to the sea\, where Design Week-end pushes on for the first time\, animating one of Forte dei Marmi’s historic beach resorts. Here again\, outdoor beach furniture finds its natural habitat\, inviting the Design Week-end audience to discover the tradition of Versilia and the anticipation of the next stage. Here\, in fact\, is a glimpse of CourmaBeach\, the beach on the snow\, which was a success in February in Courmayeur.  \nOn the long and wonderful beach\, one of the most goliardic moments of this new edition will be the tournament of marbles\, customized with the faces of the designers\, instead of the historical cyclists. Studio Giuseppe Tortato Architetti joins the technological skills of WIP Work in Progress to create jumps and parabolics. There is also no shortage of special effects with augmented reality\, thanks to the skill and imagination of DOS Design Open Spaces. The February edition in Courmayeur was very well received\, in fact it will return in February 2025\, from the 6th to the 9th. The credit for this result should be equally divided between the brands\, which recognize in our appointment a real opportunity to network and do business\, the Ministry of Tourism\, the municipal administrations\, which believe in this project\, and the Design Week-end Circle\, which grows from edition to edition in bringing culture and innovation.” \nParticipating as Event Partners: Cardex\, Dixpari\, FIM\, CORO\, Ezio Foppa Pedretti\, Interni Now\, Kindof\, Medit\, Sedus\, Studio Stagetti\, Unopiù\, Verde Profilo.
