The Milan Salone del Mobile takes place every year in April. In odd-numbered years it comes together with the biennial Euroluce, in even-numbered years with EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition. It’s also co-located with the annual International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition and Workplace3.0. These events take place with FTK (Technology For the Kitchen), the co-located show with EuroCucina, and S.Project, the exhibition for design products and decorative and technical furnishing solutions. Since 1998, the SaloneSatellite completed the show. This is the reference point for young designers and new talent.

The most important trade show in Milan
Over the years, the Salone del Mobile.Milano has generated growing interest around the world, gradually becoming more and more important. In 1994, it became the most relevant furniture and design trade show in the world and still is. Thanks to the massive number of visitors, the Salone del Mobile.Milano has become the most significant event in the city of Milan. In the week of the fair, in fact, the city comes alive with a thousand or so side events, brought together in a circuit that goes by the name of Fuorisalone. Salone and Fuorisalone together shape Milano Design Week, an event that attracts about 500,000 people worldwide to Milan each year.

Salone del Mobile international editions
Until the pandemic, the Salone also hosted two international editions. The Saloni WorldWide Moscow trade fair took place every October at the Crocus Expo exhibition center. It involved around 300 Italian and foreign companies and was launched in 2005. In 2018, the event was renamed Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow, underlining its close ties with Milan. On the other side, Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai was launched in 2016 and took place every year in November at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Sustainability at Salone del Mobile.Milano
The Salone del Mobile.Milano is publishing an extended version of the sustainability guidelines.
Salone is aware that any corporate sustainability initiative is more effective and complete with the active participation of all stakeholders. For this reason, it distributes its green guidelines to all exhibiting companies to support them as much as possible in designing, planning, and implementing their trade fair activities. Green guidelines also provide an increasingly effective answer to how to set up exhibition spaces with full respect to the environment so that a major trade fair event such as the Salone becomes increasingly sustainable.
The aim is to encourage all exhibitors and provide them with concrete indications to support the innovative and eco-friendly design of temporary booths. From Salone’s point of view, this means prioritizing the well-being of all stakeholders and achieving a positive balance between the social, economic, and environmental aspects.
