The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, organizes the festival in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, government and private sector organizations, educational institutions, international organizations, and creative district network partners.

This international design festival brings together creators, designers, entrepreneurs, developers, and the wider public to expand the role of design beyond aesthetics. It positions design as a practical tool to drive the economy and improve quality of life. The next festival will las 11 days across four main districts – Charoenkrung-Talat Noi, Phra Nakhon, Pak Khlong Talat, and Bang Lamphu–Khaosan – as well as other venues throughout Bangkok.

Bangkok Design Week 2026 presents the theme “DESIGN S/O/S,” a signal calling for new solutions and pathways forward. “Design SOS: Secure Domestic/Outreach Opportunities/Sustainable Future” it’s driven by the core question, “What can design do?” and translated into concrete action across economic, social, environmental, and quality-of-life dimensions. The festival invites all sectors to see design from a new perspective – not just as creativity, but as a force that helps society survive and thrive. Design can move cities forward, strengthen businesses, and support economic growth, while guiding Bangkok and Thailand toward sustainable development.

The festival features over 350 creative programs across Bangkok’s creative districts. These include over 200 design showcases and exhibitions that demonstrate how design integrates seamlessly with the urban environment. In addition, more than 30 talent development programs from 10 educational institutions help prepare the next generation for careers in the creative industries.

Talks, workshops, district tours
Bangkok Design Week 2026 also offers a wide range of talks, workshops, creative events, and district tours. Local communities and designers jointly develop these activities to support the transformation of neighborhoods into creative districts with tangible economic impact. The program expands further through international collaborations with designers from more than 16 countries, alongside design markets, city atmosphere – building activities, and special promotions from local shops and restaurants. Together, these initiatives reflect the dynamic spirit of Thai design – not only as ideas, but as real-world experimentation within the city – positioning Bangkok as a creative city on the global stage.
