Boston Design Week is back from April 23 to May 5, 2024. The theme for the 11th edition is “Designing for Tomorrow—Preserving for Tomorrow.” Events throughout the city include seminars and panel discussions, design tours, museum exhibitions, and the Boston Design Week Lifetime Achievement Award.
This year’s theme, ‘Designing for the Future—Preserving for the Future,’ highlights the festival’s dual focus on innovation and preservation in design. The festival features work from all design disciplines and encourages both new ideas and the preservation of historic projects. Favorite projects explore major contemporary issues, such as the environment and social emergencies.

Boston Design Week caters to professionals and design enthusiasts from Boston and around the world. In fact, it organizes several special itineraries. The Architecture and Urban Planning itinerary showcases cutting-edge architectural designs and urban spaces. Landscape Design and Outdoor Life focuses on innovative landscape architecture designs. Design and Social Impact addresses issues such as sustainability, inclusion, and environmental stewardship. Professional Focus addresses professionals in the design and education industries. Finally, Handmade Design highlights the beauty and uniqueness of handcrafted and custom design pieces.

Design Innovation Summit at Boston Design Week
The Design Innovation Summit: Design + Nature is among the scheduled events at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design. The Summit explores the role of design and creativity in preserving and protecting nature. The event will include two phases: a main stage with speakers and panel discussions and a series of short workshops showcasing essential design practices. The workshops will feature MassArt faculty, sharing insights from the Design Innovation core program. Main stage speakers will explore design interventions that positively impact conservation, urban greening, and design for behavior change.

M. Steinert & Sons presents custom-built pianos by Steinway & Sons. The German-American piano manufacturer often focuses on collaborations with designers and interior designers.
