DW! Semana de Design de São Paulo (São Paulo Design Week) is one of the world’s largest and most influential design weeks. Founded in 2012 (as Design Weekend) by Lauro Andrade in São Paulo, Brazil, it’s thus reaching its thirteenth edition in 2024. The program features different activities, promoting design culture and its connections. It involves many topics, such as architecture, art, decoration, urbanism, social inclusion, business, innovation, technology, and all other topics of the creative economy. The many Design Week events occur in various locations scattered around São Paulo, Brazil. The next edition takes place from March 14-24, 2024.

Until 2022, the Design Week used to take place in September, but from 2023, it takes place in March. In 2024, the design festival includes more than 200 events, taking place at more than 130 venues. Thanks to the new dates, the design festival in São Paulo attracts more and more participants. The events cover seven districts, scattered throughout the metropolitan area, plus an eighth “district” of online events. The 8 districts, then, are Alameda Gabriel; D&D Shopping; Jardins, Ibirapuera, Moema and Sul; Shopping Cidade Jardim; Pinheiros, Vila Madalena and Oeste; Shopping Lar Centre; Paulista, Centro and Higienópolis. March, therefore, proves to be an ideal time for the launch of collections and products, in synergy with the vision of other major design weeks worldwide.

A rich program of events, exhibitions and lectures
The program includes events varying in nature, including many product and collection launches. In the same spirit that animates the most celebrated design festivals, such as Milan Design Week, the London Design Festival, or NYCxDesign, DW! São Paulo Design Week hosts many conferences, lectures, and workshops. More than that, they creates new life in some city areas with temporary exhibitions, craft fairs, or site-specific installations.

Why visit
The Design Week in São Paulo is a plural event open to everyone, professionals or just design enthusiasts. It’s the perfect path to discover unknown corners in town, or to stroll along the design and fashion streets.
Some events, with limited seating, ask for prior registration. Most activities are free, but some charge a fee. On the website, the event organizers provide the opportunity to register. The festival takes place mainly in person, but also includes some online events.
