It’s an annual event that takes place in February and covers all disciplines of design. It mixes various themes in a contemporary and innovative format, from architecture to graphics, communication, and interior design.

Madrid Design Festival: a long running-project
Madrid Design Festival is a long-running project that spreads throughout the city. A design festival becomes the best tool for democratizing design, and to convey the importance of a discipline that transforms our daily lives. A language that generates methodologies, changes mindsets, positively modifies our environment and, most importantly, redesigns the world.

The Festival is an event rich in ambitious proposals, putting design on the city’s cultural calendar. The many events attract a national and international audience throughout the capital for both exhibitions and educational activities. The Madrid Design Festival’s cross-disciplinary program features prominent designers and, at the same time, promotes young professionals.
The Festival organization works to turn the city of Madrid into a Design Festival every February; thus opening the season in which the city becomes a leading space in design and creativity. The Madrid Design Festival, conceived and created by La Fábrica, with the direction of Álvaro Matías, relies from the beginning on the collaboration of an advisory board including independent experts and specialists in different fields.

Since its first edition in 2028, the Madrid Design Festival has established itself as an international design event. Thanks to 48 exhibitions, 25 brands, and more than 200 initiatives with 320 professionals, by 2018 the Festival had already attracted more than 160,000 visitors. In 2021, despite the pandemic, more than 300,000 people attended the various events.
The dates of the next Madrid Design Festival are February 8-March 17, 2024. It features 53 exhibitions and installations. One hundred seventy-seven brands and institutions and 695 professionals will participate. The guest project will be The Arts and Crafts of Castilla-La Mancha.

To experience Madrid in a different and more vibrant atmosphere. The Madrid Design Festival is an event that can be experienced at different levels. There is the MadridDesignPro platform, which charges an entrance fee and features talks by many internationally renowned architects and designers.
Then, there’s the Festival OFF, where showrooms, design galleries, stores, studios, workshops, restaurants, and pop-up venues highlight their uniqueness and offer different events. There are exhibitions, installations, and product launches here, which can also be of interest to a more general audience, and they are free.
In addition, there are other various other installations and exhibitions linked to different institutions, which create opportunities for social and cultural deepening.
