Courmayeur Design Week-end 2024
The fourth edition of Courmayeur Design Week-end returns February 1-4, 2024. Like every edition, the event includes lectures, exhibitions, and convivial moments.
One of these moments, new to 2024, is the “Courma Beach,” a beach on the snow. An idea to use the Courmayeur Sport Center tennis court in the winter months. Courmayeur Beach will host a snow-beach volleyball court, classic Versilia wooden deckchairs and a bar with Oysters&Champagne.

Exhibitions and installations
In the Foyer of the Convention Center, a lounge will host the exhibition “25 Stories, the 25th Anniversary of Alessi Museum”. Twenty-five stories from the museum’s collections, with which Alessi pays tribute to the people and ideas that shaped its 102-year history. The “25 stories” installation is by A4Adesign and is made of corrugated and recycled cardboard, which is easy to assemble and disassemble. The lounge, designed by Fabric, is furnished with Ditre furniture and Luceplan lamps.
Also, for the 2024 edition, there are several installations. In Abbé Henry Square, studio 967Arch designed a lighting installation, created with lighting brand Telmotor. In Brocherel Square, on the other hand, studio Giuseppe Tortato Architects collaborated with Kindof to delve into the properties of the reinforcing rod used to arm concrete. The studio designed an armchair, bench, table, and chaise longue with the reinforcing rod.
The Pietrasanta Museum of Sketches chose to celebrate its 40th anniversary at Courmayeur Design Week-end 2024 with an exhibition at the Waldensian Church and in the small square in front of it. On display here are the sketches, the plaster proofs of the artworks, usually on display in the Pietrasanta Sketch Museum.
The skiCAD Trophy
Among Courmayeur Design Week-end 2024 activities is the return of the 24th edition of the skiCAD trophy, the ski and snowboard competition for architects and designers. Project CMR designs the new trophy.
Courmayeur Design Week-end: One Step Beyond
Still among the important new features of the 2024 edition, is the women’s exhibition in the center’s storefronts. Women architects, designers, PR, journalists, and entrepreneurs in the industry, selected a series of red objects, which will be on display in the center’s shop windows. A path that powerfully expresses the theme of the 2024 edition of Courmayeur Design Week-end, “One Step Beyond.” The various stories, in fact, urge visitors to observe one story after another, thus “one step after another,” beyond.
“One step Beyond” will also be the theme of the afternoon talk on February 3.

Journalist Giorgio Tartaro moderates a panel discussion where architects Cesare Chichi, 967Arch; Michele Rossi, PARK Associati; Gino Garbellini, Piuarch; Giuseppe Tortato, Studio Tortato; Massimo Roj, Progetto CMR; Antonio Gioli, GBPA Architects; and Alfonso Femia, Atelier(s) Femia, discuss the theme of the event, and express what being a step forward means to them.
During the four-day event, there will also be a benefit exhibition, “Idee Gentili (“Kind Ideas”). The exhibition comes from Giulio Cappellini’s “Idee Geniali (“Genius Ideas”) exhibition at the Pietrasanta 2024 Design Week-end. The objects in the exhibition will be for sale in an auction. The auction proceeds will support a mission of the “Doctors for Africa, Cuamm” Association in Sierra Leone.
