In a celebration of place and identity, the year’s largest Design Miami. In Situ activation will unfold as a 14-day exhibition devoted to Korean collectible design. Presented in collaboration with the Seoul Design Foundation, the exhibition will take place inside the iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, designed by Zaha Hadid. Curated by Hyeyoung Cho, the show will feature a broad selection of historic and contemporary works that define the landscape of Korean design. As Chairperson of the Korea Association of Art & Design—the country’s oldest academic association for art, design, and craft—Cho brings a highly informed and distinctive perspective to the presentation.
Inspired by the Korean word “조명 (jo-myeong)”, meaning “to illuminate,” the exhibition shines a light on the craftsmanship, innovation, and cultural impact of each featured designer. It amplifies the voices shaping Korea’s collectible design scene, tracing their journeys from local beginnings to global acclaim.
